Were anti terror laws used against them in the end? Weren't there calls by certain sections on the right to run them over? Let's wait and see.

| These balaclava wearing chaps in Dover on 07:01 - Sep 7 by SuperKieranMcKenna | Actually socialism is driving the population increase. Capitalism can survive without it - as was the UK model pretty much up to the Blair years - the idea being the growth comes from 1) making us individually better off (until we printed billions of QE) 2) it’s a global economy. Though I accept the Tories most likely aimed to also keep wages down by creating such an unlimited labour pool (and no doubt the same for Reform, look at the donators). What CAN’T survive without significant population growth is the state pension, which requires ever more tax payers to cover an increasing number of retirees. It’s the ultimate Ponzi scheme. Other than that I avoided this thread as it’s another that just turned into another one of personal attacks and arguing!* *Edit - so much so, I forgot what the thread was about!! Not my contributions, guv. But I agree with your general point, and it is why I often give up on threads on which there are interesting and valid things to debate. Perhaps the moral of this and other threads is "Don't bear grudges.". [Post edited 7 Sep 7:43]

He's no angel, and holds some views that I totally disagree with, but he's one of a band on here that unlike those others, have demonstrated care and compassion on an individual basis in practice, including by PM. So whilst I usually agree with you, I'm afraid I don't on this. |

Which was passed in response to uniformed fascists on our streets coincidentally enough! |
That would turn on an interpretation of the Act in this particular case but such legislation has been used in the recent past. https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/brit But in many ways, it merely emphasises the point that I am making, namely, that there are already provisions on the statute book that can be used without creating more offences. And for what it is worth, if I were non-White I think I would find more intimidating a far right gathering with Union Jacks, however they were dressed, but once again there are offences on the statute book to cover intimidation such as the offence of causing harm, alarm or distress under section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986. Nick Ferrari has just played a statement from Danny Tommo on his show. That's a major mainstream source of news giving a platform to a fascist group intent on creating a far right militia. I find that quite a terrifying development.

I saw a huge amount of vitriol towards RNLI on Facebook yesterday, many saying I will never contribute again. I’m not sure what they expect them to do with people in the middle of the sea sometimes in life threatening situations, ignore them ? These are people who in many cases voluntarily put their lives in danger for no remuneration, athe mind boggles really.

For someone who regularly claims to be an innocent victim on here, this joining in with the anti-Stokers pile-on (particularly over something from "several years ago") is really not nice and unnecessary. You're better than this. |
Yet when you and others criticise an individual on threads on here, you say it’s not a pile on, just several people happening to hold a similar view. And btw the post I was referencing was one of sb’s in which he’d dragged up a post of mine from at least a decade earlier, purely to mock me.

"As you’re so interested in people providing answers to your questions these days, any chance of you providing an answer to mine of several years ago" That's your first post in this thread. You weren't involved or mentioned before, so you've clearly just come steaming into where people are having a pop a Stokers, with something from years ago. Not any attempt to discuss the topic, just purely joining a pile-on. That's the difference. You've called out several posters who've had unwarrented pops at you, and I've backed you up on several occassions, and then you go and do this - exactly what you accuse others of. The fact it was something from years ago makes it even worse. I can barely remember what happened last week, let alone years ago. Like I said, you're better than that.

So according to your judgement there, no-one is allowed to join a thread except on the first day. The thread started at 10.37am on 5th Sept, a day on which I was on the go with other matters from dawn to midnight. I read it next morning & then posted on it at 10.01am, by which time it had grown to 6 pages The same kind of timeline as thousands of other people's posts on here over decades. Yet it's only me you've chosen to call out. Double standards. My post was relevant, related to another specific comment by someone else on the thread, mild mannered (not your hyperbolic misrepresentation of "steaming in"). And as I said, the post of sb's that I referenced was him dragging up a post of mine from 10+ years earlier in order to mock me. But according to you that's fine. Double standards.

No surprise it’s Ferrari, but yes pretty frightening. The Beeb gave one of them an extended interview slot yesterday too. The lack of condemnation from a good junk of the media and politicians alike is equally disturbing and confusing. The response to a masked vigilante army (albeit one without weapons (yet?)) should be widespread outrage and condemnation. But apparently it’s fine and we need to understand them. When was the last time we saw these sorts of images of balaclava clad men on the streets - the IRA during the Troubles maybe?

What on earth are you talking about?! I haven't said anything about when anyone's allowed to join a thread. I simply said you hadn't been involved in it, your first interaction was to steam into Stokers about something from years ago! Your post had nothing to do with the thread, it was just an attack on Stokers. And there was nothing mild about it. I have no idea or evidence about what he may have posted about you decades - before - the years ago that you're referring to either. I think you've lost the plot.
