Will be interesting to see how they're compared to environmental groups who did the same and who mainly showed their faces. Were anti terror laws used against them in the end? Weren't there calls by certain sections on the right to run them over?

Let's wait and see.

I haven't. I sort of want to, sort of don't.

I always worry about getting a high profile drugs trial and ending up in protection!

No he didn't. A quick search is all it took.

No, Jeremy Kyle did not report that the United Nations (UN) stated 1 in 100 asylum cases are genuine. The segment broadcast on Talk (formerly TalkTV) in September 2026 involved Jeremy Kyle discussing a widely reported investigation from The Times.

FFS, I wish I hadn't looked at this rubbish. No surprise that you watch TalkTV benters. I'm guessing you'll say you were genuinely mistaken now?

I'll take that as a 'no'. You are very dismissive of my view, which is odd given what you have written.

Here's my cursory check on google for you: https://journals.sagepub.com/d

Of course you collect data....

Who are you
How old are you
Where have you come from
What brought you here
Medical data
Biometric data

Assess answers against criteria
Check for consistency

Make a decision

Consistency check again
Deal with appeal

Human rights watchers, lawyers, politicians....Many believe the subjectivity leads to a highly arbitrary process.

Each case is considered as a while. Its not a collective data analysis exercise.

You are massively deflecting. Your stated belief that decisions were arbitrary!!!

I will restate it again. I imagine there is a significant amount of arbitrary decision making going on.

No deflection needed. I am not sure I could have been any clearer.

Some more 'evidence' - The UNHCR thinks that the Home Office only meets it's internal standards in 52% of asylum claims.

Caseworkers are under huge pressure with the backlog, leading to mistakes.

66% of appeals are overturned by judges.

I could go on.

I’d expect journalists in a relatively high position such as Poppy Coburn to relay on facts or to present a reasoned argument but all she seemingly does is echo meaningless soundbites. Probably designed to get people angry.

I never heard of her prior to watching that clip and so I googled her - I wish I hadn’t. She comes across as rather unpleasant.

No there isn't. Look up the word arbitrary.

Then look at the clear rules and guidelines- which are extensive.

No one suggests perfection, or that there is not an element of judgment involved. But arbitrary is blatant trumpish / farageish misinformation which you should correct.

UK life expectancy is actually in decline and will continue to some extent

I think you know what I'm getting at. We have an aging population because of life expectancy generally increasing along any extended timeline you care to look at, and it's widely recognised that our country can't sufficiently support their welfare and healthcare without immigration.

Funny though, because apparently we're too full because of it? Dear me, I do wish someone who understands Reform's policies and can string a sentence together could square the circle for us.

Personally, I do think that continually relying on immigration to feed the ponzi pyramid is not a long term solution. We have to recognise things have changed and we need to pay more to make it work.

Regardless of your views on immigration, the very fact that it drives this sort of division and conflict is enough to show us it can be problematic in large volumes.

I do indeed.

It’s an inevitable population mushroom. I’m afraid we’ve given state pensions to too many people far too early. The French are in an even worse position than we are. An undivided state pension scheme is even worse than an unfunded healthcare system. But instead we spend political capital on small boats or banning some Israeli companies. We got the politics and the politicians from hell

Just for clarity, the UNHCR audit was published in March of this year. The Home Office and UNHCR agreed that UNHCR would conduct an audit of asylum interviews in September 2024, which included a total of 30 asylum interviews randomly selected for observation, plus an additional 30 case files (interview transcript and decision) were selected for detailed review (all carried out between November 2024 and January 2025)

I don’t think anyone should wear a balaclava on any kind of march, and I mean all of the marches in London as well.

Have you see the UN has stated that just 1% of these people on the rubber boats have a right to claim asylum in England?

That means 99% of them don’t.

Yet they still pour in,the country is heaving with too many people in it.

It can’t carry on.

Mind you nothing will change, our leaders are cowards.

Have a good day.

These balaclava wearing chaps in Dover by BlueBoots 9 Sep 7:26
The UN didn't state that only 1% of asylum claims are genuine - it was an unnamed Home Office whistleblower stating an opinion, which has yet to be backed by facts anywhere (and this story made it to many media sources)

These balaclava wearing chaps in Dover by Benters 9 Sep 7:47
I definitely saw Jeremy Kyle say it when I watched TalkTV this Morning, maybe he’s lying then.

I've linked to the interview at the top of this post; the only person using the 1% claim is IDS, and he doesn't attribute it to the UN.
