Will be interesting to see how they're compared to environmental groups who did the same and who mainly showed their faces. Were anti terror laws used against them in the end? Weren't there calls by certain sections on the right to run them over?
Let's wait and see.

We went twice a week for the month. The weather was good which helps so good for outside bars in places like Underbelly. It's just a 40 minute train journey for us so not expensive and there are a lot of acts in small venues. They can be hit or miss and a lot are pay what you think they are worth. So if you avoid the big acts it's affordable. That said, some of the big act use the fringe to test out new material which is good to see. Plenty of street entertainment as you walk about. And a really friendly atmosphere.
Sounds great to be fair. We have family in Glasgow so may coincide a visit with the fringe next year. Glasgow is also awesome. Seems stuck in the 90’s in the best way.

It's not about having a pop at individual posters (not from me anyway), so don't take it all personally, but the silence from the usually very vocal right wingers after these recent events is quite telling.
People like you and Balcombe usually do comment on most political threads in fairness.
I'm only right wing on here! everybody else I meet in the real world thinks I'm normal!

Let me know. I'll take you to the local Tory club
Antisemites, Jew haters and crashing bores will be put on ignore.
This thing about where are the 'right wing people' coming on here to condemn is an absolute nonsense. As if all people to the right of Barbara Castle need to condemn racists. Racism, violence, authoritarianism and populism, are not exclusive to the right. I don't need to state my objection against any such thing.
I feel a bit uneasy about masked men dressed in black protesting. I also get quite hacked off about the idea of causing mass disruption to others through your protest. I also don't really think what they are protesting against is necessarily coherent.
But, I don't think this particular action is problematic in isolation. There were no arrests, no attacks on police, no criminal damage. This has not been the case with loads of prior protests. I don't agree with their motives or message, but it's hardly anarchy is it?

Really? Do you live in Surrey?
West Sussex - clue is in the name!
All my family are crazy lefties. Most of my friends in the village are centrist dad types. They like Nish Kumar and listen to the rest is politics, but they don't think I'm particularly right-wing.

My wife is three years into a politics degree at the age of 58 and has discovered Marx. She believes Das Kapital is as relevant today as it was when written. I have to remind her she is a small business owner.

If the rest is politics is considered left wing then god knows where I am?!
My entire family are righties so I can relate in a way!

I'll need to defer to some of my more learned leftist friends on this topic, but a quick summary from ChatGPT.....
Early Marxists argued that monogamous bourgeois marriage was not built on love, but on property. Marx stated that the bourgeois man views his wife as a "mere instrument of production" used to produce legitimate heirs to inherit accumulated private wealth. Therefore, a modern "divorce settlement"—which divides capital, real estate, and assets—is fundamentally a mechanism to untangle private property within a capitalist legal framework.

...are grim.
But when they are discussed on this forum, the issue often becomes more about point scoring against other posters rather than actually addressing the issue at hand.
Some proper sad bastards around unfortunately.

I've asked you a number of times to not reply to me. Not entirely sure why you keep doing it as I have no intention of interacting with your biased, virtue signalling and disingenuous narratives.
Your double standards on here are incredible, barely anyone takes you seriously anymore.
Please stop replying to me and expecting me in any way to take your posts seriously.

Finally banned for holding decade-long grudges, he somehow inveigled his way back on here on the dubious manifesto of being a changed individual…..
Slowly but surely morphing into an even more insidious and entitled version of his previous iteration.
No surprise really….
Sometimes I giggle about the frothing lunatic who’s put me on ignore and now has to constantly log out to see what I’ve said. Beneath that counterfeit persona lurks the same pitifully desperate egomaniac.
So GB has come into this thread two footed and called a poster a sad bastard. And then Bloots has come in and reinforced that view. And that’s all okay? That’s how we want threads to be going?
