There is usually a reason why someone, especially high profile, is a free agent.
Its usually
1) they aren't that good anymore
2) Their attitude stinks (or doesn't fit anyway)
3) They want to much money.

One of those you'd like to know his side of the story but also reckon after minute of hearing it you'd very much regret deciding to.
Vardy is 39 going 40 and I'd back him to run more distance over a season.
He needs a club desperate for a top winger, can afford 200k a week and have a big walk in fridge to lock him away in whilst manager can lead the rest of team to do their training in peace. |  | | |

We can, just not allowed to play them unless we can find a very good reason for the Prem to give us permission to make a change to the list.
Note: It specifically says in the handbook that other avenues (e.g. U21s, recalled loans) have to be explored before the Prem allows squad list changes. |  |

Why are people so attracted by washed up hasbeens? Dele Alli, Kalvin Phillips etc. Now Sancho who has made his dough. He was on £250k - £300k which equated if we scale it down to say £200k £10,400m. A year.
Since when do we need players looking for another pay day or to come here and play with ‘a lot less pressure’? Surely we’ve moved away from ‘punts’ too.

i actually think Phillips was worth a risk at the time. He hadn't played regular for a few years and didn't pull up any trees at West Ham but in our position if we could have got him to 90% of the player he was he would have been our best by some way.
On Sancho, our squad is done, so why would we bring him in unless someone left now. |  | | |

You weren’t alone. Plenty of people thought that.
I’m not sure I commented at the time, but I was very uneasy about it given his woeful efforts at West Ham and I never thought he’d be anywhere near the terrific player he was. But it was obvious from the first moment it was a failed gamble, sadly.
The gift if hindsight. I guess we are all blessed with 100% of that.
