Tarchowski spends the whole afternoon manhandling Emersonn so Flemming comes on and gives him some back. Tarchowski then proceeds to full on the floor when he realises Flemming is giving him some back and gets the free kick given every time and to make matters worse, Flemming gets booked.

So many times you see Defenders get away with it. Very frustrating.

Part of this new trend of defenders grappling attackers, and then using that momentum to throw themselves to the floor. Refs buy it every single time.

Tarkowski dived several times.

No cards.

Its infuriating. You could see exactly what he was doing and the Ref fell for it every single bloody time.

yeah but it's not a dive if you put the brakes on and wait for the contact to fell you as the striker can not decelerate in time. Just defenders doing what defenders do.

My heart sank as soon as I saw Attwell was in charge. Such a poor ref.

Tarkowski is a wise old owl, was too much for Emersonn today, but it's all part of his learning curve.

Definitely showed his experience against him but just felt he got whatever he wanted when Flemming came on and started making it tough for him.

As an aside to that, really like the look of Zian. He really is a handful. Probably should have done better with the half chance but gets in good areas and definitely has the physicality for this league.

It is a dive, unless they are actually impeded. Contact is not a foul.

It doesn’t work like that. If you slow yourself enough as a defender when someone is running behind you, they’ll knock you over.

Defenders learn to do that as kids. And as someone else said, tarkowski is a clever player.

Just part of the game, you need to get more clever as the attacker.

defenders know that refs always give them, from the refs angle it just looks like an attacker wellies the defender over.

I don’t think there’s any doubt defenders go down easily in that situ however there’s a pretty obvious difference between making the most of contact, and sticking a leg out at a right angle while already falling over to try and invent a foul out of nothing

Fatawu’s dive was as blatant as you will see and an obvious yellow, so quite laughable that some seem to have lost the plot about other dives that haven’t actually happened not being treated the same way

No difference at all. Neither are fouls. Both are cheating.

Yeah, my annoyance is more the issue of Tarkoswi getting away with it, whereas Flemming got pulled up three times for what I would have classed as 50-50.

Fatawu just had a complete brain fart and deserved to be carded.

I actually thought the ref was decent enough yesterday.

Can't think of too many decisions that annoyed me.

I'm desensitised by it mostly, because it's now a major part of the game.

I look back to games 40 or 50 years ago and I'm stunned what you could get away with and I can't believe there weren't more serious injuries. And only 1 sub. I can't believe most games finished 11 v 11.

So I'm glad they introduced more strict rules to clean up the game BUT wherever there are good laws brought in, there'll always be ways to take advantage of them and abuse them.
And now we see cheating every game and now it's too much. To the point where we give credit for players going down too easily as part of the game and using their experience.
Can't blame the refs all the time.

Sending off completely justified, and also chalked off a perfectly good Everton goal which I’d have been absolutely spitting feathers at had it been the other way around. But yes, boooo refs fault

The idea that a player directly in front of the keeper and in touching distance. Should not be considered offside is crazy to me. As is the idea we should be asking refs to assess whether a professional keeper might have done differently or never had a chance to make a save

Time to sort the rule. Offside judged when ball played forward. Further touches irrelevant if offside when it's played. Player will be called offside unless the ref is satisfied that there is no actual or potential impact on play and no advantage or potential advantage gained.

Done.
