Oh f*** off. Point me to where I 'slandered your dead friend' and I'll gladly apologise.
You're little more than a gas lighting two hat.

Pop me on ignore before you have a aneurism.

Incredible response.

“Were you or your mate waring (sic) balaclava's at the time?” - consider yourself pointed.

I genuinely think this username is not worth the angst or their trolling - especially as they’re being so emotive and trying to poke people all over the place. Weird how a few like this have popped up lately.

Maybe they don’t follow England?

“Surely you'd prefer robust policies that tackle shoplifting on a wider scale”… absolutely
… But in lack of that, stopping thieves in the act should be applauded

If you saw someone stealing your car off your driveway, would you sit and watch them on your Ring doorbell cam and think “I’ll give this video footage to the police and let them investigate in a few weeks time” or would you open up your front door and chase them off?

I’m definitely the latter, whereas most on here appear to be the latter. Each to their own.

"But in lack of that, stopping thieves in the act should be applauded"

You're missing the point though. Jenrick and his lot's policies have helped CAUSE the shoplifting problem. They created the "lack of that". Do you really applaud people who do one tiny good thing in a massive problem they created?

I take you back to my leg-amputation-slippers (Dubs - they are lovely, soft slippers) analogy. Why haven't you answered that? Would you applaud the surgeon who wants to buy your slippers?

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Whilst I am not convinced it is the whole reason, the conservatives literally brought in a law in 2014 which meant that there was a perception that shoplifting under £200 should not be treated seriously.

It has only just been corrected by the current regime.

The point - is that someone approached a thief in the act. Regardless of who that someone is, regardless of what that someone has done or hasn't done, or will go on to do - they did something admirable - in my opinion and clearly not in others opinions.

Maybe you're right, but the similarities with his last 'stunt' (maybe not, but that's wht I'm suggesting) are very close.

Let's go back to May 2025. Reform had just had its breakthrough English local elections on 1st May, winning the Runcorn and Helsby by-election plus council seats. The Tories had bombed. A couple of week later he was putting pressure on Badenoch, claiming the Tories risked being wiped out unless they became tougher on crime and immigration. Shortly after that he attacked Labour’s sentencing reforms as effectively allowing criminals to avoid prison. And then he conveniently accosted fare-dodger on the tube and then released a slickly edited solcial media video where he complained aboutshoplifting, phone theft, drugs and disorder. Here he was, stepping in as the hero of the hour stopping what the authorities can't.

Fast forward to today. A day after Labour's early release scheme saw several hundred prisoners released. Reform were very vocal yesterday about how bad this would be for society and lead to lawlessness on our streets. Sarah Pochin was outside Brixton prison yesterday filming about hoew "criminals are being freed onto our streets". One day later, Jenrick also happens to be in Brixton where he happens upon the alleged Greggs shoplifting and steps in valiently to challenge him, whist producing another slickly filmed video aboit how the country' gone to crap. The hero; the man of the hour doing what the authorities can't again.

Smells iffy to me. Maybe he's just always out being the vigilante we all need and does that even when the camera's aren't rolling. He doesn't look like the type to front up to hardened criminals though.

Only a couple of questions from me. Why was he by Greggs in Brixton today, not far from Brixton Prison, when he had no appointments there (from what I can gather) and it's out of his way for Westminster? And why were they filming street-content there so that they managed to catch someone shoplifting?

It doesn't have to be staged of course. He could have just gone out fishing for a criminal act like he did with the tube fare-dodging incident. It worked last time, so it's not a big jump to think he'd try it again.

(PS. I can't believed I've just looked all that crap up again from last year lol)

Also about 150 miles from his constituency, where I'm guessing there might be a branch or two of Greggs he could hang around outside...if I was being cynical, I would say choosing to do that in one of the most historically famous Afro-Caribbean neighbourhoods in the country might appeal to their core audience.

With someone to film, and presumably some sort of close security?

More details required tbh. It whiffs.

Then it's a good job you didn't start the title with "Jenrick" then the first sentence of the post itself say "Fair play to Jenrick." and then spend 5 pages arguing with people who have pointed out that Jenrick has caused the issue more than anyone else.

You are clearly coming across as a troll on this thread whether that is your intent or not.

Did you start the thread? (Clue: it is your username in the top corner on the OP.)

Is the thread titled "Jenrick - Confronting shoplifter" from the outset? (Clue: that is the title in the OP.)

Which bit doesn't make any sense to you?

You have then spent the rest of the thread arguing with people who have pointed out that Jenrick is a very major cause of the problem and far from to be held up as a virtuous example.

Err yeh course I started the thread, that's pretty obvious - it's not in question - it doesn't need mentioning. Your post was pretty pointless.

"Jenrick is a very major cause of the problem and far from to be held up as a virtuous example." - I agree, he like many other politicians are partly responsible (though the thief is 100% responsible).

"You have then spent the rest of the thread arguing with people who have pointed out that Jenrick is a very major cause of the problem and far from to be held up as a virtuous example." - Incorrect. I have spent much of the thread arguing that the ACT was brave, despite it.

The whole thrust of the thread is clearly to praise Jenrick. That is absolutely clear to everyone. To then claim "The point - is that someone approached a thief in the act. Regardless of who that someone is ..." is clearly disingenuous.

Everyone reading this can see that very clearly. I just thought it might help if that was pointed out to you as you don't appear to appreciate how blatantly obvious that is. But now you know and seem to want to carry on.

As I say, it comes across as trolling really.

It's my thread... so i know what the intention of it was. It was to praise Jenrick for the ACTION, not to praise his entire back catalogue of Political decisions.

"The point - is that someone approached a thief in the act. Regardless of who that someone is..." is entirely an accurate depiction of my comments on this thread. I dont actually like Jenrick - a bit smarmy for my liking.

I've been trolled throughout, including someone making insulting assumptions about a dead friend and yet know one is calling out that person.
You're the one that's doing the trolling now.

Woh there! I just missed your post cos of all the flack being thrown at me.

"But if you insist, I would go out and have a go at/chase someone trying to steal my car." - Good for you! an act of bravery, just like Jenrick :)

"So, basically, you're not bothered about ANY context, regardless of how relevant." - correct. This is about an ACT of bravery, irrespective of the person and any context other than:
-someone's just stolen something
-it's illegal
-someone's stood up to the thief

Your analogy is unrealistic and proves nothing. We're talking about something that has actually happened.

Ah, I see, you're going to avoid the question.

It's perfectly possible for the wrong limb to be amputated, and has indeed happened. But nevertheless, it doesn't matter if the analogy is unrealistic. It's an analogy, it's just there to make a point. You could substitute in any number of scenarios you wanted.

However, let's try a more realistic one. A criminal goes on a spree stealing hundreds of cars. However, he returns one (we don't know the reason). Is he to be praised for that?

As a side note, we still aren't sure if what Jenrick did was an act of bravery given the whole thing could have been staged (and his obvious motives for wanting to look good). Again, you're taking everything at face value.

I want to know who Jenrick was with. Information he does not appear to have put out.

Very easy to be brave when you have a security team with you, or several mates. Much harder if its just you, at 10pm and there are three miscreants who may be tooled up in all manner of ways.

They're not valid questions worth answering.

Clearly not staged. what actor would have his face blazoned across media for stealing.

Unless Jenrick regularly frequents the Greggs in Brixton with a camera crew, of course it is staged. It’s performative nonsense at its worst, from a truly awful human being. If people don’t see that they’re either completely thick, or pretty awful themselves (possibly both).

No it's a perfectly valid question, you just dismiss it because you can't answer it/it's too uncomfortable.

It's the same reason you don't want to deal with the context of who Jenrick is.

If it's a random person stopping a shoplifter, that is indeed praiseworthy.

If it's a politician performing for the cameras, AND THAT POLITICIAN, BY HIS PARTY'S POLICIES AND HIS VOTING, OR LACK OF IT, MADE SHOPLIFTING WORSE/MORE LIKELY... then that is a whole different context.

On the one hand he's creating thousands of shoplifting incidents... on the other he's prevented just one.

I suspect you do see that and, as I say, can't answer.

And with that, I'm done.

p.s. I've not suggested it's an actor. But if an actor is paid enough, they will act on pretty much anything. That's their job.
Have a nice evening.

Jenrick being in Brixton is very random. It’s almost as if he’s only there in order to produce propaganda for his pathetic hate campaign.
