Think you'll find they're on the north side of the river.

Indeed so. Did you not read the whole post? It was a very poor attempt at humour based on my knowing quite a few people who think the ground is south of the Thames. Doesn't really work does it? I already have my coat.

Not sure how that works exactly. I think we're entitled to compo in the 12 months after his departure given he resigned, not sure if it reduces through that period or its just a hard stop in June 2027. I guess it might become a bit of a negotiation between the clubs if McKenna is the man they want.

His next move won't be a knee-jerk - it will be meticulously planned and executed. BTW - Carrick is wobbling so maybe a change at Manure at the seasons end.

He has dipped his toe back in and is working in some capacity, it is not like he has been sat indoors all day watching Loose Women and eating wotsits. I have done this on my time off, allegedly.
| Lots of noise on 18:19 - Oct 13 with 1820 views | Dubtractor | In the summer, with a transfer window to put his stamp on the squad, Fulham could have been a good move. In their current position, and with their squad as it is till January, it would be a mad job for him to take. | |

The toe-dip's are planned. He's considering his moves. He isn't desperate for any job.

What about dipping wotsits in some loose women. Is that preferable to the Fulham gig?

He's a great Championship manager who's a prospect in the Premier League, it remains to be seen how well he would do with an established club/squad. Fulham are more likely to take a gamble on him than say Spurs and Manure, who are also allegedly sniffing around him. I figured he'd be back in work mere months after leaving us, it was a "nice ending" scenario he and Ashton had decided upon, when he wanted to leave here. I don't see any issues between Ipswich and McKenna, and I don't see us being obstructive to him getting a new job beyond what we might be owed, and given what he did for us, I expect we might be flexible to make that happen. The risk for McKenna is, if he takes on a Fulham and goes down, his stock will not be great. He might be better waiting for a Celtic where on average you have to basically have to have a pulse and an above average IQ to win that league with them.

He's obviously a big fan and will get decent exposure (at least in the early stages) to European football. Is a good stepping stone to a mega job.

I'm sure we would be somewhat flexible if it was a genuine blocker. Not just to do the right thing by McKenna after what he did for us, but from a selfish perspective too. We'll want some level of compo vs. the prospect of getting nothing in the summer. Him joining a club we deem to be a rival at the moment might also come into our thinking though. It would be a high risk one from McKenna's side. If he kept them up and stabilised them for a couple of seasons he'll be very well placed for a Spurs or United job after. If he didn't manage that he could quickly be seen as a manager with a poor PL record though. Celtic is possible, I also think Everton could be attractive at the end of the season. If Moyes moves on as is expected that'll be a very attractive job. Ultimately there's a finite amount of PL jobs, and Everton is a good one. He'll have a decent base to build off post Moyes at an established club, fancy new stadium, upside potential, back in the North West and a doddle to get over to NI etc.
| Lots of noise on 10:22 - Oct 14 with 949 views | barcelonablue2 | Think I saw on a Fulham podcast before the game that the owners have appointed 2 successful managers out of the last 9. Fan/ host basically said he lost all faith for the next appointment to be the right one. On one hand McKenna is a very good manager, on the other hand he is still very very inexperienced. Let's remember we have been his only manager stint. Fighting a Prem relegation scrap is not exactly the stress-free environment he will want to join but Fulham certainly have the squad to be an attractive punt. Think Fulham are more likely to appoint Rooney than KMcK but best of luck to him if he goes there. | | | |

Think Tony Khan is too busy with his AEW (wrestling business) to give much of a monkeys about football.
