| Florentino been pss poor today sadly (n/t) on 09:27 - Oct 18 with 685 views | Adams | This forum is awful during a game because of stuff like this. I looked during a couple of games, and it's full of people posting every negative thought that pops into their head. It's one thing to comment about a player's performance, but it's dumb to start a thread to literally just say a player has been piss poor. I now avoid this place on the day of a game, so I normally miss it all. It's by far the worst forum I've ever seen for this stuff. | | | |

Sorry, he wasn't very good. If no-one is allowed a (different) opinion, we may as well close this forum down. People can criticise players. Having said that, he's playing Man City and I have to say first half Palacios didn't look brilliant either. [Post edited 17 Oct 20:35]

There is a difference between starting a thread singling someone out as "pss poor" against arguably one of the best 3 teams in the world Vs as part of a grown up discussion perhaps saying he "struggled today against the calibre of opposition" for example. One is a "pss poor" way of supporting your team. Obviously it's fine to discuss performance on a football forum.

If i was using this site casually then id recommend using the ignore function. The main ones are obvious.

The team performance was light years ahead of two years ago, and all the players played a part, so we should be celebrating not looking for scapegoats. [Post edited 18 Oct 10:18]

I definitely think your 'worst forum... for this' last line is massively wrong - it's an Internet-wide thing, far worse in other places - but I think your general sentiment is bang on. There are a few people who feel the need to shout out really exaggerated negative stuff, possibly for attention, and usually on an embarrassingly obsessive pet subject, who then spend inordinate amounts of valuable time trying to defend the indefensible, and boring and pissing everybody else off. No doubt at all about their love for Town, it's just the imposition of their own needy rubbish on the considered thoughts of the rest of us the irritates, admittedly more than it probably should. After a valiant and high grade effort like the boys put in yesterday, it's just boring and unnecessary, but oh so predictable.

Tbh ive always used the forum on matchdays similar to if i were watching in a pub etc. Ive got better at in game posts. But granted occasional lapses like yesturdays. Just something thata always been part of me which has got better. I think i explained the reasoning after and my other posts yesturday i feel were ok. But attention no. I dont need it. Habit and a bad one. Yeah.

I know it wasn't clear from my post, but my rant was less about you and your post, and more about the forum overal on match days. I don't even disagree with your points, as he wasn't great. It's a shit show on here, and it's pointless to log on with 20-odd new threads on every minor reaction to the game. This forum could do with a match day section with a thread for every game where all these comments during the game go into one thread, and it's clear it's pub talk and reacting in real time. I think if you made the same comment in a match day thread and not its own one, it would be seen very differently. I don't know if this is making any sense to anyone reading it. Man United's red cafe forum is a good example of what I'm talking about https://www.redcafe.net/matche [Post edited 18 Oct 13:09]

This forum is by far the worst I've ever seen on a match day. It's not even close. Other forums do it much better. This is the only forum I've ever had to avoid on match days.
