| We are so close to being very very good 17:09 - Oct 31 with 2289 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | But the reason we are currently below a fairly rubbish Hull side tonight on GD (that have no where near our talent) is because of second half’s like that. Low IQ football from Davis, O’Shea and Walton at 1-0 on the road. Should really never have been a basketball game, loads of good but I’m not convinced we will ever keep a clean sheet after watching that. Their equalizer reminded me of Wrexham’s opener last year (but worse). Walton on the Free Kick, standing basically behind his wall, unreal. We have so much talent and result is ok but that was a disappointment when you see how close we are easily disposing of the likes of Hull. First half was men against boys. Should win games you dominate for that long. They had nothing until we let them. | |

I like him for 20 minutes then not for the rest) Lcb option of high high standard Fatawu. So hot and cold. Walton. Not going there.

He will be, Davis so high, the entire Ipswich fanbase screaming at DOS to come across in real time! Watch the goal that Moore scored against us for Wrexham last season in the first few minutes, Dara done the same thing, defending no one, giving a clear shot on goal, same result, WTF. Walton doesn’t know where his goal is for either but second was inexcusable, high school level angles. Wasn’t even in the corner. Should have won that game.

No idea why our potential second was ruled out and that shirt pulling on O'Shea in the box was ridiculous. Nothing we can do about those decisions, and if correct would've made it an entirely different game.

Some of those teams will pick up and move up a few gears you would imagine fairly soon. Today was an opportunity dropped to put some distance between ourselves and the bottom 5-6 teams. Considering how well we passed and kept the ball for the first half an hour up until the disallowed goal, it is criminal we did not come away with more from that game. The same sloppy mistakes are being made again at the back, O’Shea got away with it last week against Forest but today his positioning and decision making for the first was shocking. He almost got caught out from a long ball a few minutes later. Davis was also nowhere near his man for the first and looked to be slow at getting back too. We are still in a good position and Hull haven’t lost at home since March last year so not a bad point but the same defensive mistakes keep rearing their head in games.

Well whatever, they’re massively outperforming their stats again because they don’t make mistakes and we made basic ones. You won’t see us dominate a team like that for 45 in this league again, until maybe they come to PR. I know people will see that result as ok, I personally see it as a huge opportunity missed after watching that Hull side for 50 minutes. Not like they turned the screw, every opportunity came from us and then at 2-1 it was anything goes. Still we are class in many areas but just need a bit more about us in critical moments.

There are certainly improvements to be made but we are heading in the right direction overall. Just enjoy the ride!

We seemed to have several decent chances towards the end of the game and also just after we scored. No doubt this team has talent and is far superior to the one we had previously in the Prem. But we need to be more ruthless. This was a game we could have won just as it was against Man City where we could have had a point. There hasn't been much between us and any team we have played. Individual errors and giving teams like Liverpool a two goal start. If we can hang in there, keep picking up points. Maybe offload a few in January and get a couple more in.

That’s 2 points dropped against a side we should beat. CB LB GK still areas we can improve the squad in the window for sure.

O’Shea not closing the space was embarrassing tbh. He had precious for this as well. Walton on the second getting beaten on his side is also pathetic and again he has previous. Nothing we didn’t know but again cost us today.

We shouldn’t need to score 3 to win a game in the PL away from home. We haven’t kept one in 9 this year, and it’s since Chelsea in Dec 24 if you want to go back to the last one at this level (not particularly relevant) but zero in 9 this season, isn’t good.

Apart from us completely outplaying them for the first half, why should we be beating a side that no other Premier League side has been able to beat at their place? It could easily be seen as a positive that we should have won that but for two very poor pieces of defending (and a failure to take more of our first half chances).

We won’t ever keep clean sheets with a back five like that unfortunately. It’s a real concern and something we need addressed sooner rather than later

Isn't it refreshing to be able to complain we have a couple of defensive players who aren't top Premier League players instead of complaining we haven't got a Premier League striker or midfield (or anything close to it) at all? I am sure there are areas we need to improve on but we are miles ahead of where we were before. There will always be things to complain about but I, for one, am quite happy with where we are as a club right now.

They scored with their first shot on target. They barely had a bloody touch, let alone a shot for over half of the game. Madness! Luckily Enciso put it top bins, otherwise they’d be more serious questions. Diop and Ouattara decent though.

| We are so close to being very very good on 17:39 - Oct 31 with 1060 views | jas0999 | Our attacking play is excellent. Our defending has been sub par all season. Not a single clean sheet … nor looked like getting one. That has to improve quickly. Do we have the right personnel at the club? Kipre? Greaves? Will we need to strengthen at CB in the transfer window? Walton questionable again today. We’ve spent so much on keepers as well. | | | |

We have the best players playing at the back. They just ain’t good enough. Greaves ans Kipre don’t improve us at all. O’Shea and Davis weak defensively and Walton got found out again. We have some real talent there thou and we missed Lukic again sadly.
