Corbyn's vote share is 40% 10:02 - Jun 9 with 4258 views | CaptainObvious | that's bigger than the winner or largest party of the last 3 elections (Blair 2005, Cameron 2010, Cameron 2015) and half a percent lower than Blair 2001. truly astounding considering half his own party has been plotting against him for the past year.. Fair point of course, not much joy scoring 4 goals in a cup final if the opposition get 5, but this is a wider point about being called unelectable within his own party and socialism, pronounced dead in 1997, now proven to be being very much alive and well.

Does that mean that apology for terrorism and antisemitism is on the rise in Britain, or that we have a truly divisive press who spout nonsense all the time and a very large proportion of the public who swallow such disgusting nonsense?

that's a bit of a tenuous spin to be fair. the electorate were split, and you could say no-one won - but to say the electorate rejected everyone is no more accurate than saying they accepted everyone.

His brave decision to promote himself as a far left, terrorist appeasing leader of a party with an antisemitism problem was far more popular with the electorate than his predecessor's campaign just 2 years ago - but not quite enough.

I think you'll find it is being called a 'bijou' party :o)
Corbyn's vote share is 40% on 11:34 - Jun 9 with 4028 views | CaptainObvious | Another stat for balance, May's 42.4% is a bigger share of the vote than 2 of Thatcher's 3 wins and the biggest for a Tory since 1979. A polarised two party split.

I think there's going to be a tory government - so yes he was.
| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Corbyn's vote share is 40% on 11:46 - Jun 9 with 3973 views | Darth_Koont | Amazing what happens when the party even just pretended to have a united front in order to win votes. It's pretty clear that the Tories wouldn't have called a snap election (and we probably wouldn't have voted Leave as a country) if they'd closed ranks much earlier and realised people's appetite for a change in direction. I hope that those MPs and snipers from the sidelines who tried to force Corbyn out can hold their hands up a little as they now start getting behind him officially. In the spirit of peaceful reconciliation of course.

The bbc, sky etc seem to have had an incredible knack of stumbling upon working class types prepared to say ...."no chance I could possibly vote for Corbyn".....or some variation of this.....how do they do it ! ?! [Post edited 9 Jun 2017 17:52]
