Night before last my watering can blew over and made a bit of noise as it scraped along the ground. It was annoying but not enough to go out into the drizzle and relocate it.
Yesterday i came up with a solution and put some water in it and am happy to report that today it hasn't even moved.

My plastic thingy that holds fat balls blew off the stand it was hanging on.
I can't actually find it now having looked all round the garden.
What would Trumpy say about that?
I'd tweet him dirctly, he's the fat balls expert after all ...
My runner bean wigwam has beeean blown over and onto the side of the shed, so I can't now open the shed door! Looks like runner beans for lunch - and tea - and brekkie ...

You are lucky to still have runner beans growing!
Mine were over about a month ago and a very poor yield this summer.

Because of other things going on in life, I never got round to sowing seeds as I usually do, and eventually bought plugs & planted them out late - I think it was early June, tho we're a couple of weeks behind the south anyway. Because of the drought I watered every eve to start with, and then gave them a good soaking every 2nd or 3rd day - got a very good crop, tho perhaps not quite as heavy as usual. They're very thirsty as you probably know, and the dense foliage means unless rain is heavy, it runs straight off - not that we had any!
What variety do you grow? I mixed my usual Scarlet Emperor with a white flowering version this year (can't recall name), and found the SE much sweeter & more flavoursome.
When the storm (that Michael Fish downplayed) hit my neighbours shed it didn't collapse which p*ssed my neighbour off no end because he wanted a new one courtesy of the insurance company. 2 days later it was mysteriously in a heap and he was in the garden with the insurance bloke and a big grin on his face. So that's why insurance premiums are so high.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I'm in runner bean distress along with you my friend.
Beans everywhere and not a cane left in sight.

Runner beans Bluebell! Bloody things.
Mange tout were ok - are always a very short but sweet season. Chucked 'em out for around a month and got a few tubs into the freezer. They then died overnight.
Runners showed fine early on then that heat hit them and they stopped in their tracks. I mothered those things but nope. Lots of growth but the flowers just kept dropping off. They're offering a few now but it's too little, too late.
Saving grace has been French beans. Heat didn't seem to trouble them and they're only just finishing up now. So there's your answer next year. Cover all bases.
I have been eating tomatoes with everything this summer and am currently looking at a ripening box weighing over a stone. They need cooking up asap and freezing.
