Brentford leaving Griffin Park 19:44 - Jun 26 with 1881 views | pointofblue | It's possible Brentford fans will never get the chance to say a proper farewell to Griffin Park due to the pandemic. Not sure how I'd feel if that was us leaving Portman Road for pastures new without having a fan attended match as a goodbye.

Brentford leaving Griffin Park on 20:31 - Jun 26 with 1758 views | BloomBlue | They might not be able to move to the new stadium. To get a license to start the season next year in their new stadium requires them to perform a control evaluation of the stadium with it 70% full and without that they wont get a safety licence. The problem with the current social distancing laws means they won't be able to do a test with it 70% full. Which will be tricky for them as that means they wont be able to play in the new stadium next season and have sold the current stadium.

They can go to QPR for a bit, or even Reading if they're homeless.

Not much of a stadium really, but loads of character. My first visit there a couple of years ago was very enjoyable but the best pub in the area is the Express Tavern, which is right next to the new ground.

It might not be a "good" stadium, but it's got more going for it that 99% of new, soul-less, atmosphere-dulling, away-from-the-pitch new stadiums. Full of character, pubs on each corner, and you're very close to the pitch and the action. Much better for me. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The new Brentford stadium has several brilliant pubs within a 5 minute walk.
