Having read yesterday's match report I can't understand why currently plus over the past few years we have continual injuries to many players
Whether they are niggles or not it feels too many, it's not like we have kicked a ball in anger for many months
I wonder if other clubs have the same issue or just bad luck on our part |  | | |  |

I think that is the key point, it is likely that the players will have not been in ideal condition after such a long lay off, added to which we are cramming a pre season into a pretty short period.

Never use to happen. Butcher, Mills, Wark, Holland etc. all played with knocks. They seem to be a lot more fragile these days. Of course, the game has changed and is much faster these days, but think the club need to look at training methods and the character of the players. We need our best X1 ready and prepared to play every week if we are to get out of this league. Not pointing fingers at any players in particular, but are they here for the good of the club, or just the pay cheque? |  | | |

The impression I got yesterday was that several of those who missed out would have been played if it was a proper game, but they were rested as a precaution. Think they're being more careful with them than normal due to the long period out. |  | | |

Tho quite a few of that generation ended up with significantly shortened careers as a result and permanently crippled thereafter. What might Beattie have achieved with modern medical care and rehabilitation? |  |

Yes this must be a factor as its ,or so we are told, its just a lot of niggles . It's a fact that players often play when a little bit unfit but maybe not in pre season . |  | | |
