Can't make it out although there seems to be an 'eff' in the middle of it.
On another note, Whymark's shorts that day must have had a peculiar Young's Modulus or something, in order to cause him to full so long after the defender had given them a tug!

That defender had four nibbles at him, two shoves in the back, an ankle swipe and then a short pull.....30 seconds later......he's finally down.
Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

Gate's finish is superb... As is Hunter's og.
Nice kit, clean, plain, pure
On that note the commentator (Brian Moore??) refers to Gates as 'Tiger Gates' after that goal. First time I have heard him called Tiger. Was that a nickname for him that I missed? Or was it enthusiastic commentary?

I do not remember him ever being called Tiger so never a nickname to the best of my knowledge.
He had only actually started 9 first team games before that one, according to my check in TMWMTT, so very much doubt if he had acquired a nickname of any sort unless it goes back to his youth team days.

I seem to recall Gates scoring a similar effort from the right hand side of the Churchman’s end against Spurs around 81, anyone else remember that goal?
