Dobra injured? or scared he’ll do well against a League 1 side.

Portsmouth strong and unchanged.

This team should still be good enough to win.

It should be. It is their regular league team. Marquis is in form too.

You did mean the team posted immediately above didn't you? Bearing in mind our first choice team can't win against anyone higher than 9th in League 1 at the moment.

Is Lambert making the point that Dobra should have gone ln loan?

So Toto marshalling a youthful back four.... Could be er, interesting.

Less is more.

Nolan is going to be fired up - hope he plays positively. Huws is a great footballer but just hasn’t shown it, with Downes to return and Lambert’s love of Nolan he’s running out of chances - needs a good game.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one am pretty fed up with the approach of picking the second string for cup games so we can concentrate on the league, but still being pretty naff in the league anyway. Mick and Lambert both pretty bad at this.

A couple of changes is fine, but making this many almost always leads to disjointed performances.

Why have we made all these changes when we haven't got a game next Saturday? Portsmouth are at full strength.

Youthful?

Kenlock is 24 in a couple of weeks and Donacien is 27.

Hate it. Unless we have rearranged a league game for next Saturday this is stupid and completely unnecessary; play the strongest XI (which is admittedly arguable in itself) today then the reserves at Crawley.

Holy - Chambers, Ward, Wilson, McGuinness - Nolan, Huws, Bishop - Lankester, Edwards, Jackson

Cornell - Donacien, Kenlock, Nsiala, Ndaba - McGavin, Judge, Dobra - Sears, Bennetts, Hawkins

Let’s just hope the reserves prove themselves today; particularly Bennetts.

I think he's making the point that Dobra wasn't that great when he came on sub the other day, despite other players being not that great week-in, week-out and still get picked. But he'll be the Judge of that.

Donacien 27 and made 42 league appearances at this level or above and 80 in League 2.

Kenlock 23 and made 55 Championship appearances and 13 more in League 1.

I am not sure McGuinness needs a lot of marshalling either. He is an organiser I think.

And if you're going to make more than a few changes, you might as well give the kids a game as at least they'll be used to playing with each other and will stop the performance from being so disjointed.

Big shame not to see Dobra or Simpson given a chance. Particularly the former (I guess if Norwood's back it makes sense to give him some minutes) but it seems Lambert has different thresholds for how many dodgy performances you can have before being bombed out. For the youth players that threshold seems to be set at '30 minutes'.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
