Like the Tories over here, it's only ever all your fault and you should take some personal responsibility for your actions/words if you're not a rich white bloke saying/doing something appalling.

Especially if you're a hungry child - they should be taking personal responsibility for their parents' incomes.

And to paraphrase Badger, there's a lot of anti-PC types on here getting annoyed at Biden for saying it like it is.

As president, it's going to be critical that this isn't just empty rhetoric and that he actually acts in a way that underlines these comments.

I think the worrying part of this is that most of that mob were so indoctrinated by what Trump (along with those around him and they must not be allowed to distance themselves from it now) has been saying that they honestly believe they are standing up against an injustice. Instead of mindfully opposing democracy, they honestly believe they are in the right and somehow defending it. It is the product of anything distasteful to them being instantly dismissed as fake news and no evidence can be presented because it would only serve to reinforce the fact that it is a conspiracy.

There have always been people who have been brainwashed into incredibly extreme beliefs and who have acted upon them but the scale of this has been worrying.

I believe Trump signed an executive order during the BLM protests to give very harsh sentences to people damaging national monuments.

Now wouldn’t that be sweet.
