Credit to Biden for trying to do something, but unless he can use Executive Orders, he's whistling in the wind. These will inevitably be challenged in the courts by the NRA on the spurious grounds of altering the 2nd amendment (which was actually all about maintaining a militia, rather than private gun ownership).
While 2/3 of Americans would like stricter gun controls, their absurd system always blocks this, with the well funded NRA targeting any Senator or Representative who supports this. Even obviously sensible ideas, such as restricting semi-automatic weapons (which no sane person needs) are twisted by the NRA, who warble that this is a prelude towards "taking all our guns away". |  |
