Let's say for a second there is something in it. Pearson goes to an interview at City with (presumably) Ashton. Ashton says look, i'm going to Ipswich in the summer and there may be an opportunity there so why don't you join until the end of the season and then we'll see what happens?

It's clearly a daft theory. Bristol City would rightfully go nuts if this happened. Ashton and Pearson would be left looking like dishonest tossers. It's just not going to happen is it?

Their owner hasn't even met Pearson yet. That's why he has a short deal. They wanted to meet face to face before signing anything more permanent.

Truly impaired.

Paul Lambert's available. Think he's already got a home in the area too.

Those were the days. Don't seem as bad now as they did at the time.

7th in Division 2 felt so disappointing at the time. We’d have a parade for it nowadays.

So despite in every interview and podcast done by our new owners who have stated repeatedly thar Cook is their man you decide that Pearson could be linked to us🙄

Doubt he’d be Paul Cooks assistant somehow , but good suggestion. Next?

Realistically they're never going to say anything else are they? Plenty of details about the takeover seemed to find their way into the public domain before it happened, Cook being their first choice wasn't one of them. (I think Appleton came up repeatedly?)

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Wasn't all the talk at Bristol end that the Chairman had appointed Pearson over Ashton's head, and Pearson was power playing to get more control over transfers etc before signing up?

Either way, I don't think he was Ashton's man - if someone like Lee Johnson was available it would be interesting
