I remember when Cov were my go to club to compare us to as a warning that we were heading in the wrong direction.

Now we are the club other clubs use as the warning!

I recall watching them win the FA Cup, anybody know which of our strikers reffed the game?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I think £ for £ we're almost certainly the worst under-achievers in the football league. Hard to name another club of our size that's sunk this low this century whilst also being relatively financially stable.

Or even us, under Mick, despite the drag factor of Evans.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

And yet Mark Robins was never mentioned when it came to 'fancied ITFC managers'; well I don't think he was.

its upsetting that these clubs are ahead of us. however with a proper plan i believe that we can be challenging at the top end of the champoinship again

presumably because it wasn't realistic for us to attract someone already in post at a higher level? Especially pre-takeover.

This rings a bell.

Coventry were the previous longest-serving Championship club to us. I can recall their fans talking about expectations of returning to the Premier League and me thinking they were more likely to go down than up. I guess that as fans we lack that self-awareness far too often. Derby as the current longest-serving Championship side should take note too.

It is an encouragement to see they can turn it around relatively easily. I am optimistic we can too. Hoping more on a Norwich or Southampton scale though.

What it does show is manager stability ( especially when you catch a good un), goes a long way to creating a stable base to a club.

Lambert was in post twice as long as the EFL average.

In reality it's the other way round, managers who create a stable base get to hang around a long time.
