So in the end we managed to raise a grand total of £808 which is a great result! Problem is, the Refugee Therapy Centre haven't replied to any of my calls or emails for about three weeks, and they've been shut every time I've knocked round there.
What to do? Should we hold on to the money and wait, or would people like to nominate other charities to give to instead? I'm happy to wait but also am quite keen that this dosh gets put to good use asap. What do y'all think?
Again, my sincere thanks to each and every one of your for your kind words and donations. New place is squared away and am just waiting on the tenants to move out, so a week on the Suffolk Riviera it is from this afternoon :) After the traditional trip to Hamilton Hall that is...
Thanks again!

Will maybe wait it out for another week or two and see where we are. Just don't want to pull a Father Ted :)
If you convert it to bitcoin while you wait won't it be worth £654,698,514.99 by this time next week?
Pronouns: He/Him/His.
"Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."
How about a Charity or Trust that has a name similar to our smoke-damaged friend, just change the initial letter in his name and he becomes "Hooters"
I wonder if there is a charitable organisation for Distressed Former Serving Staff....an helping hand for those who feel a little deflated having worked in that establishment
Or even a charitable organisation for those who feel they need to be inflated to work there

Nice one fella, glad you've got somewhere new sorted out.
I would maybe throw Shelter into the mix as a suggestion, because people can become homeless for all sorts of reasons and maybe fire is one of them.
Their solicitors do a wonderful job in helping people who are otherwise at the mercy of the authorities who really do neglect in their duties when it comes to those in most desperate need.
There's isn't an awful lot of other help out there so always push them as a worthwhile cause.

A slightly better suggestion than my earlier effort Mr J
Seconded

SBR Foundation? A bit obvious, but they do some great work and are a cause close to all of our hearts. Or a designated away match next season and that’s the beer pot?
