We’ve got some problems haven’t we? 17:25 - Aug 28 with 1858 viewsSteve_M

Not dreadful, playing some decent football but not creating all that much and conceding far too many soft goals. Utterly awful to throw that one away and it’s becoming a problem now.

Maybe a kitman and a player with zero coaching experience isn’t enough.

We’re very reminiscent of Hurst in 2018 and Keane in 2009 here.

Don't worry, I'm sure Jeffers, Roberts and Craney will sort out us looking like conceding at every single set piece in our half.

They've had all week with the players and seemingly have done no work on defending balls into the box. Really poor defending again to give them two goals.

The players we've signed ought to be good enough to win games at this level even whilst still gelling so I don't buy that as a catch all excuse for 3 points from 5 very winnable games.

Wondered from the beginning the coaching staff isn’t strong enough.

And we’re conceding so many set-piece goals, you’d think they’d have noticed a pattern and dealt with it by now.

Yep, second paragraph is key. The players we have our good enough to win this division and we don’t look like winning a game.

Too late to make a change of manager now but can’t see it working for Cook here anymore than it did for Keane or Hurst.

Yeah that’s the area that’s only going to come under more scrutiny the longer this goes on. We really should have had enough to win that pretty comfortably - we had the beating of them down the channels all day but didn’t make enough use of it.

Evans plodded about too much and Harper had his weakest game yet but even with that underperformance we’ve simply got to learn how to deal with balls being lumped into the box. Most teams at this level can do fck all but they know how to put a ball into a box of big men and if we can’t find a solution to that then we’re not going to go anywhere.

It’s why the ‘it’s only individual errors/small margins’ line was nonsense - as you say there’s a pattern emerging and with each game this continues we’re fully showing our hand to the rest of the league.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

His scorched-earth policy was always going to be hight risk. Right now, it doesn't look like it's working for him.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

It's almost as if what was actually needed was only a few older and underperforming players to be moved on and maybe 5-6 new ones brought in. Pretty much like what many people were calling for at the end of last season.

Most of the goals conceded have been organisational failings, two free headers yesterday demonstrate that even if Hladky should have done better with the second one. Even with the addition of Burgess we’re still conceding two goals a game to fairly average League 1 attacking play.

Can you blame coaching staff, the manager, for players not being able to defend a set piece? You’d think it’s something they’ve been doing since they started playing the game. If they can’t think on their feet in those situations then by all means blame the recruiting of them in the first place

Don't agree that it is too late to make a change. I'm still backing Cook at this point but my patience is wearing extremely thin, if we don't pick up at least one win from the next three games and stop conceding 2 goals per game then he needs to go. .

There are plenty of Managers out there who i'm sure could get a tune out of these players, Chris Wilder for one.

The absolute chaos when making those changes yesterday was embarrassing .
