It makes no sense, as you say, to be somewhere in person and able to witness an event to miss it by trying to film it instead, I'd want to lap it up and remember it.

Was at a Wildhearts gig a few years back and there was some phones in the air, filming. As one of his between song chats Ginger announced 'can everyone stop swearing at the people holding their phones up to film the gig. They've paid their money, they can film if they want. Just bear in mind, that if you're stood behind someone who's doing this, you've also paid your money and if you feel like snatching it out of their hand and flinging it to the back of the hall, you've also paid your money...' It's probably just about acceptable at stadium size shows, because that's basically like 'lighters in the air' but in less than 5,000 capacity shows, it's bad form. | |

Stuart lee at Regent jumped off stage after warning about filming, ran to the back, took woman's phone, did the rest of gig with it down his pants. Belonged to the wife of a chap i know but don't lhave much time for! Lee slung it on the stage and left it there at end of gig, leaving the irate bloke to claim it. Lovely stuff. | | | |
