Shame on ITFC for that 15:04 - Nov 28 with 3523 views | NeedhamChris | Firstly - admire the enthusiasm of the BA group for wanting to do something but; 1) to use that much plastic and have the club support that is awful. So much more sustainability 2) this was supposed to be the rainbow laces match? 22 other games in the season to have done something like that but instead it overshadowed that. Good intentions - lack of thought

Like it or loathe it, the OP has a point. Most the stand lobbed their one after. I’ve kept mine for gardening use. Are they getting reused? Are they recyclable? These are discussions we should be having and considering both as individuals and a collective. Saying that is no reflection on BA or the display. [Post edited 28 Nov 2021 16:03]

Fair enough - that's COVID and climate change that don't exist at Portman Road then

It's the TWTD way. If there's a high moral stance opportunity, it will be taken. Every bloody time

It's not a high moral stance opportunity - it's completely valid to question whether using such a lot of plastic for a 2 minute moment is justified when you think of the bigger picture.

if it's to be a regular thing, then fine, but otherwise card would have looked just as good!

I’m on my phone, can someone reply to this with an embed of the “We should improve society somewhat” meme please.

I do - more than I should in day to day life but try to re-use as much as possible. Not being 100% perfect doesn't mean I can't comment on the use of thousands of single-use plastic sheets when there's a perfectly good alternative (card).

Why would it be interesting? If they didn’t wear the rainbow laces it doesn’t mean they’re against it.

You sound like part of a problem, you for it or against it?. I thought the idea was to wear the laces to show support. Do yo boo when the players kneel at the start?

That’s quite a dramatic jump from you hahaha. Calm down dear. The laces are just a part of the campaign, it started a few years ago with just the laces but now it’s a much bigger thing, rainbow corner flags, rainbow captains armbands and rainbow graphics on Sky Sports I’d say that’s all much more visible and better than the laces. Can imagine a lot of players don’t want different laces in their boots for whatever reason - superstition et el.

People are talking about the plastic on the seats. I’m sure someone at BA will answer any concerns at some point, and if it was oversight I’m sure they’ll consider it next time.

Yes and the plastic on the seats will get reused.

Shame on ITFC for that on 21:06 - Nov 28 with 1343 views | NickITFC | Get off your high horse on that high ground. They were clearly collecting all of the plastic at the end of the game which I have no doubt we will see before the end of the season. I for one am grateful for anything BA do to try and improve atmosphere around PR!

Indeed. It was all collected after the game & put into the store cupboard to re use again.
