I'll take anyone that puts us in with a shout of the play offs at the moment. But I fear, we are going to have to shed players in January to do it.

Time to forget the ridiculous notion that we are in the running for the play-offs, so no need to rush an appointment. The season has gone, give McGreal the chance he deserves over what remains and then reconsider options in the summer.

A 2-0 defeat to Crewe last night. Might not need to wait long, and possibly not much resistance from Lincoln

Maybe he'll bring Bishop with him

Mark Ashton knows Michael Appleton and may well rate him as a coach.

But Ashton's future here is linked largely to the next managerial appointment and we have almost unlimited funds to make that appointment.

He has sold the players a vision and brought in the likes of Celina, Chaplin, Morsy. Players that shouldn't be near this division.

Why on earth would he risk his own future on a struggling League One coach when he can have his pick of anyone that is reasonable and a fair few we would likely never attract without the financial backing and 'project'.

He will no doubt make the most important decision (manager) on the same basis as the players. By bringing in someone that turns heads or he has incredible confidence in and ultimately he believes will keep him in a job. For me, he's not putting all his eggs in the Appleton basket and risking his future he with several seasons in League One. He's going for someone so good that he believes they cannot fail.

We are by no means too far adrift if someone can pull the team together, get them properly organised and motivated.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

At least if we appoint him I don't have to go to any more games.

Such an overrated manager.
