Fair play to them, they're equal opportunities bigots. They'll make anyone who isn't a straight white bloke a second class citizen.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Experience tells me the IOPC aren't fit for purpose when it comes to holding corrupt/dishonest police to account.

Far more likely to get something positive from this move, fingers crossed.

I was told that they're powerless to do anything as it was a possible offence carried out more than six months ago...

By the Met? Seems they haven't read the law then (Three years according to the GLP)

I sent it to the IOPC. But seemingly they haven't read that either.

Fanastic work from the GLP as always.

"In regards to the COVID Laws please note that they are Summary only offences and this means that a prosecution must take place within 6 months, unfortunately we are now nearly a year down the line. We have to work within the laws provided to us. I would suggest you complain to your local MP regarding this matter."

IOPC are fcking hopeless in any case. Remember the ITV Exposure documentary?

Their lawyers tried to stop it airing. Why would the public body responsible for holding corrupt police to account, wish to surpress a documentary highlighting corrupt policing?

Haven't seen that before, laggers. I'll give it a watch tonight! You are obviously much more learned than I about this sort of thing after your years in the trenches with the fookers.

A few bad apples, etc.

On the plus side, if you ever get in trouble with the Bill now remind them they only chase crime before it happens and not retro actively. Sure it'll work fine.

Maybe Morgan just tripped onto the axe? Happens to the best of us.

They are incompetent is why. A letter from a Justice Minister to the Justice Select Committee is clear that prosecutions can be upto 3 years after. Quote from the letter, "The aim is plainly to ensure that offenders do not escape justice through concealing their offences until six months is over."
