I absolutely hated watching that as a kid. Used to skip past that game on the end of season videos!

No chance a keeper gets beaten like that in the modern day, had snow on it before it hit the net.

agreed because no one is naïve enough to have a keep that's 5'2 these days. (ok he's actually 5'6 or 5'7 but point stands)!

Nothing personal against Clive but he'd never make it as professional GK now. They'd take one look at him as he walked through the door and say no thanks, no matter what his ability

With the riches of the PL in the current day no team would have a backup keeper quite so short these days.

Was there for that one (and the League Cup game a month or two previously). We were playing them and Sheff Wed every couple of weeks that season.

He became friends with my old man about 15 years ago, and they speak about that goal together - with my old man watching it back then it’s pretty surreal.

They were with each other last Thursday.

I don't even think it's his height, just poor keeping there. Generally was a good shot stopper, seem to remember him doing well v Man U at home the year they put 9 past us away.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Why not? Keepers are more likely to be off their line this day and age to sweep up and Saunders took a gamble. What about David Seamen for Arsenal when Nayim beat him from a little further out in the Cup Winners’ Cup final. Seaman was/is a big guy, it can happen to any keeper if they are caught too far off their line and the striker catches the ball perfectly.

Poll: Where are we going to finish?

Very good by Saunders. However, he could be the child of Mick Mills and I’d still never forgive him for that dive at Anfield.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

That’s a bit harsh considering it was at PR.
