They are very real and genuine, their pain and suffering is raw and deep and their disgusting neglect by authorities continues." Then where the hell did this come from? Hate speech inciting racial hatred & thereby potential mob violence isn't just saying "something".

Dangerous beliefs without grounds perpetuated in order to demonise a specific ethnic group is racist discrimination at its worst. There was some dispute over whether those perpetuating conspiracy theorist ideas should be considered under counter-terror legislation on a thread the other day but to think that saying things is harmless is wrong. Piers Corbyn a while ago encouraged followers of their particular theory to burn down the offices of MPs. There has to be a limit on what is reasonable free speech in my opinion. Inciting hatred and violence hits that threshold comfortably.

Count yourself lucky. If things still worked as they did in Henry VIII's time, you could be executed for saying 'I wonder what sort of king Prince Charles will be'. Imagining the monarch's death was in those days treason.

Interesting, thanks, will read in more depth later. Assumed such programmes existed but didn't know how widely used, particularly on random individuals. Guess there are triggering key words.

The first attempts in the UK were in the 70s and 80s using phone lines. As you suggest, key words would trigger the call being recorded. Apart from words related to the IRA, the government's concern at the time was with disruptive strikes So words like 'picket' would trigger the system. It crashed, never to be revived in that form, during the Miners' Strike. Specifically after the evening news featuring the Battle of Orgreave, when the world and its wife were on the phone saying 'did you see those pickets fighting with the police?'. You have slipped the word "just" in there, which gives it all a meaning that I did not include. It makes it look like i was minimising when I was not. I remain uncomfortable with the idea that speech should carry a prison sentence. Though it may, nevertheless, be the least bad of the alternatives in some extreme cases.

To all intents & purposes you're remaining oblivious to the point everyone else has made. Why do you think advertising agencies employ copywriters? Why do you think Hitler & other dictators created propaganda departments utilising wars of words? How can you not see that trying to whip up others to persecute, assault or even kill whole groups of people makes propagandists like her complicit in any ensuing violence, injuries or deaths? You're in effect saying that people complicit in murder shouldn't be punished with prison sentences. Imagine Andy Green goes to a pub, meets Bob Brown, feeds Bob false information that John Smith is such a terrible person he doesn't deserve to live. Bob then assaults John in a dark alley, resulting in John's death. Should it only be Bob who goes to jail, not Andy as well? [Post edited 14 Feb 2022 2:25]

The capability to listen in on a phone call or to use phone/internet based data has existed for a long time (e.g ECHELON). The legality of what is allowed to be done in the UK was established in the 1990s and updated in 2016 (the Investigation Powers Act or something like that). In short, it's no longer legal to monitor/listen in to random individuals and hasn't been for a long time. The police/security forces have to suspect an individual of criminal behaviour and then get a warrant granted by a judge before they can 'listen in'. The updates in 2016 were introduced to cover internet based comms - because before it was all based on telephones. And smart criminals know how to get around this. For example, if 3-4 criminals all know the login and password to an email account they can communicate with each other by leaving draft emails - which are never sent so cannot be intercepted. Now, that doesn't mean to say that agencies are not listening in to randoms - and the conspiracy theorists were using this argument to try and undermine the change in legislation back in 2015/16 - but I can absolutely assure you that even if the powers that be wanted to listen to randoms they would not have the capacity to do so. Even back in 2010 when I last had anything to do with this, the volume of internet based data was so large that no country in the world has the resources to monitor random content/conversations (and believe me the US would have loved to do so but even they didn't have the resources) - and the volume of data growth in the 12 years since then is astronomical.

Sadly there are many (far far too many) people in this country who agree with her views and peddle the same racists views towards Jewish communities, there is still much work to be done by the moral majority in stamping this out.

'Just words' frequently has directly dangerous, violent or even outright deadly consequences though, see also : Boris Johnson on Jimmy Saville or Muslims, Priti Patel on human rights lawyers, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon on muslims, Abu Hamza on white people, the antivaxx movement as a whole, Donald Trump and Qanon on Hillary Clinton... The sort of language she used to demonise Jewish people, blood libel, world domination etc, was used as an excuse to exterminate 6million people. Of course she deserves prison.

One minute the Jews are bringing in immigrants to destroy the British race, the next they’re burning them alive for no reason and they’re the victims of Jews. It’s almost like there’s no thread of logic to paranoid schizophrenia.
