Came across the below today and wandered if these plans ever took off or if they were discarded.

I know some work was done but thought this was just adding some fencing around the training pitch. But what about the other things listed? P.s the below is a pdf document not a Web address. I did try to copy the Web address but can only get this

You can track back the Planning Applications for an address at this link. While I can find the Portman Road applications I can't find anything for Playford Road. There must be some somwhere so I must be searching under the wrong address

Playford Road would be in Suffolk Coastal opposed to Ipswich Borough

Or under the wrong local authority, perhaps. Playford Road would presumably fall under East Suffolk, rather than IBC?

Was that the area which Marcus Evans is said to have retained as part of the deal selling the club to Gamechanger?

Looks like there are 4 properties that make up the site. This is the planning history for 1 of them.

Assume so, I was told a long time ago that there was an area of the training ground which wouldn't be a struggle to get planning permission on as it was close to other houses, so that would appear to tie in with that.

Hadn't seen the proposals in the document, assume the plans were abandoned. I know at one point there were discussions about the university having a building up at Playford Road as part of a joint-venture but that didn't come to anything either.

Although, I was walking at the time of coming across it, so could be both ;)

That representation the club made in 2019 was partially successful as the now adopted local plan provides:

----
Policy SCLP12.22: Recreation and Open Space in Rushmere Land is identified between Ipswich and Rushmere Street as shown on the Policies Map to retain settlement separation through the presence of natural and formal open green spaces, whilst also contributing to the recreational needs of the District and Ipswich Borough.

Proposals will only be supported where they are for sports ground uses, or for associated uses which contribute to provision for outdoor sports and recreation and which maintain the separation of Rushmere village and Ipswich.

---

However, as Marcus Evans probably now owns that land in question it is difficult to see how any application for residential use there would now "contribute to the provision for outdoor sports"
