I’m in trouble with Microsoft 10:11 - Feb 25 with 1602 viewsPinewoodblue

Some kind Indian gentleman phoned me from Microsoft offering to help me stop naughty illegal things being done with my computer. I annoyed him so much that after 15 minutes not only was I being blocked by Microsoft but also banned by Apple he then terminated the call.

Expect he is bothering someone lelse now.

I'm in trouble with Amazon Prime. I keep cancelling the calls when they keep ringing me up to talk to me about an order I've placed for an Apple iPhone 11 Pro recently... they're very keen in wanting to talk to me about it, it seems.

I wonder if it was the same bloke that warned me 'The FBI' were about to smash my door in over unpaid tax?

When I said, "FBI"? He corrected himself to "NCA" and then tried to carry on as though nothing had happened. That was six months ago, I've been sitting on a quote for a new front door ever since.

I once wasted around 15-30 minutes of one of these people's time. I was already familiar with their routine and patter so when he said I had a problem I said I would have to turn on the computer and that it takes a long time to load ... playing into his hands already. So I wasted forever saying "not there yet" etc. before confirming everything he said. Eventually he was expecting me to give him control of my PC to fix the issues. When he finally twigged this wasn't happening he asked why I was wasting his time! I said "why are you trying to defraud me? I am wasting it so that you have less time to try to defraud someone else." Some rather colourful language followed before he hung up!

Now we have no problem with them because we use one of those call defender type things. It has the added benefit that anyone who has not been added to our OK list is challenged by a scary lady who demands they leave their name before we decide whether to take the call.

Previously we even had a call from the police asking to speak to someone by name ... not sure how that one occurred as we had the number for several years ... I think they gave more detail on them than that when I said they had a wrong number, like an address or something. I thought that was a bit on the verge of data protection.

Is that a genuinely 'imminent' visit, or a TWTD style 'imminent' visit?

Since moving to Canada my DHL package to China has hit issues and I owe a lot of money. Luckily for me, my Social Insurance Number has been cancelled with immediate effect meaning I'm unable to pay them, as I have to cease work, stopping my income. Not sure how much that will cost to sort though...

Having been married for 12 years, I now find I’m having Barron Knights every evening

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.
