You could go back to the 1970s and stop us wasting our time joining the Common Market
We could have stayed being backwards and broke rather than having to make ourselves backwards and broke 4o odd years later and save a whole load of work?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I had in mind castration of the fathers of Farage, Cameron, Johnson, Rees-Smug, Sunak, Patel & all members of the ERG 2 years before the conception of their infamous sons & daughter.
Could go back further too & do same to fathers of Hitler & Stalin (although I'd then never have been born into my current being*, but I guess that wouldn't matter as I'd never be conscious of the fact - in fact I might have been a benevolent Labour leader sweeping us into power & ending poverty & homelessness in the UK. Hey ho ...).
*I'd better add that's due to both my parents being refugees to the UK from Hitler, who met in London at a tennis club but who'd never otherwise have met in Europe, before any hilarious bantz start!

therewith is the ultimate time travel paradox
if you go back ion time to stop a bad event you Amy not then be born to go back in time to stop the bad event
if you go forward in time to start a bad event it wont happen and therefore you cant go forward in time to stop it

Given what it led to, I'd stop Archduke Franz Ferdinand's visit to Sarajevo in 1914.
I'd still go for preventing Hitler's conception (tho Guthers might come along to tell me that someone else might have taken his place? 🤔 But I do doubt anyone else would have gone through with such a policy of genocide, or been able to persuade an entire nation that it was an OK thing to do).

Though not a fan of counter--factual history, you could argue that without the Archduke being killed, there'd have been no WW1, and therefore no Hitler coming to power etc.
