Only 58...ouch that's far too early. Probably the goalkeeper that changed the narrative on 'Scottish goalkeepers'.

Good keeper and always came across as a bloke you’d enjoy having a drink with. RIP

Indeed. Was just thinking that – him and Jim Leighton anyway.

He tried to chat up my Mrs in a bar at Princess Square, Glasgow about 10 years ago. R.I.P.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Not really, born and raised in Lancashire.

That's very sad, a fine keeper.

I was reading an article about him only a couple of weeks ago and he’d been given months to live. He declined treatment as his cancer was beyond curable. That’s all happened so quickly. Always thought he was a very decent keeper with a big personality. Sad news to read, RIP ‘The Goalie’.

I'm up here and had followed it. Originally given 6 months to live, but they did a follow up a few weeks ago which revealed the cancer was far more advanced and spread far quicker than previously anticipated and they gave him 4-6 weeks maximum. I am not sure he even made 4 weeks, sadly.

Poll: Lambert goes, would you prefer an ex-Town connection replacement or not?
