I think Davis and Hirst are distractions now 15:43 - Jul 8 with 2560 viewspointofblue

I’m not sure if Ashton will be willing to bid much more on either so I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ve privately moved on to the next ones on the list.

If we get them, brilliant, but I expect us to fill those positions with different players.

Pretty much think the same, the stories are to much out in the open, not how Ashton has conducted business in his tenure here,

Both are still live, so to speak, Davis more likely than Hirst. Think involvement of Championship clubs may mean you're right that Town will have to move on to another target, however.

The good thing is by driving the price up by bidding, we can force our competition to pay more, or price the move out of the market for them to go elsewhere at least.

We beat Championship clubs to a fair few players last summer by all accounts. Admittedly under Cook, but there's a big argument that McKenna is a bigger draw.

But, like Twine, he might want to just play at a higher level regardless of anything else.

That's the real issue, with us being in this tin pot league and our desperation to get out.

Is he? He's had a much better impact on us than Cook, but Cook had the history of success behind him.

Ultimately players will follow the money but I'd say with his background McKenna is potentially a bigger draw for players of the profile of Hurst/Davis that want to develop.

Possibly, so he may attract younger players and we could possibly offer them first team football, which Championship sides may not be able to straight away.

Exactly that. We can out offer clubs but playing a division above us can be a clincher. And who can blame players, look what's happened to Flynn Downes after one year in the Championship.

Definitely. McKenna is a well respected coach who’s worked with the best. Cook isn’t and hasn’t.

Shhhh, the agenda on here is to discredit Cook completely

Not True... Cook worked with Liam Richardson, who was the best at making Cook look competent.

He did a pretty good job of managing that himself, without any outside assistance.
