Shame, I can get it for the pizza cup as that really is a waste of time and an insult to league 1 and 2 clubs, but thought it'd be slightly better for the league cup.

Anybody else slightly surprised at this given the current feel good factor around the club and the fact it is against a local side? I’d have thought it would have got a significantly bigger crowd than equivalent games in previous years but it doesn’t seem like they’ll be the case.

Low by our standards of course but when you think about it anything around 8,000 is more than a lot of clubs at our level get for a big league game.
Speaking of attendances, I can’t get over how crap they are at Colchester. I watched their highlights from Saturday and it looked so sparse. It was like a pre season friendly hearing the manager and coaches shouting towards the players etc. What do they get, 3,000? Shocking. |  |

I think the hope would be to get the average up to about 3,800 again this season, if things go well. (The next two games should help - Bradford will bring plenty, and then it's Orient.) |  | | |

I booked early hours of this morning, for Yasmin and myself, and it was difficult to find 2 seats together in the Magnus Stand in either the lower (a few towards the corner) and middle (couldn’t find any) tiers, and central in the upper, so we’re right along in block JJ. |  |

This is not the Papa Johns Trophy (originally the Associate Members' Cup), but the Carabao Cup (League Cup in old money).
Papa Johns are the 10th sponsor of this competition, which says something about the value it provides. I challenge anyone to name at least half the sponsors (no cheating).
Carabao are only the 8th sponsor of the League Cup.
I won't be watching tonight as Town will be playing a near reserve team. I don't blame McKenna for doing this as giving the squad players game time at this point makes sense, but not too much hand-wringing if we lose in a competition which we aren't taking seriously, whatever McKenna says about wanting a run. |  |
