Marko Arnautovic: Manchester United end interest in Bologna striker - BBC 17:21 - Aug 9 with 731 views | monty_radio | Says something about the current state of Man Utd that they float the idea of signing him, then quickly abandon it after such as Sutton saying he thought it was a spoof. For all that the mooted Keogh signing has drawn forth the gamut of responses, whatever the outcome, how good that we finally have a club that knows what it wants and would neither change its mind so publicly nor put itself in such a position in the first place that Twitter, Chris Sutton, or indeed, TWTD, was leading them by the nose.

Marko Arnautovic: Manchester United end interest in Bologna striker - BBC on 17:28 - Aug 9 with 684 views | J2BLUE | United are repeating the same mistakes Liverpool made years ago. Lots of signings who aren't any better than they already have. They should be looking to add 1-2 sure picks each summer until they rebuild to challenge. West Ham wanted £150m for Rice. Go and test their resolve with a more realistic bid. Bid for Kane and see if they can get him to pressure the club to let him leave. They just badly need quality in virtually all areas.

Agree with your overall point but can’t see why Kane would leave Spurs for Manchester United at the moment!

Indeed. The chance for that was last season. The ship hasn't just sailed, it arrived at its destination.

Or Rice leave West Ham for that matter, he’ll do better to stay at the Spammers as I think Kalvin Phillips would have done by staying at Leeds

Kane should have left Spurs a couple of seasons ago - think Man City were seriously interested in him. He would have won silverware with them - being the all time Slurs scorer doesn’t mean a lot in the grand scheme of things.

Players don't actually wnat to play for Man Utd. Look how many big signings have gone their and their careers absolutely stalled. Di Maria, Sancho, Van der Beek, Pogba, Martial, sanchez, Lukaku, DePay and nearly any defender they've signed. They're hardly furthering players careers. And that is why getting out of decline is very difficult. Utd want De Jong, but de Jong is hardly trying to make the move happen. You really only want players that are busting a gut to make the move happen. Does de Jong want to be a Man Utd player - i don't think so. How many players have united signed recently that really wanted to be there...and that's maybe why they have such and attitude and dressing room problem which has been evident. No way Kane would go there. If he ever did leave Spurs it would only be for a club where trophies are guaranteed. [Post edited 9 Aug 2022 19:13]
