Back when I were a lad, you could catch players coming into the club car park. From memory, I think all the players now get bussed in from elsewhere before a home game.

The lad is desperate to get his shirt signed by Wes when we make his Birthday pilgrimage to PR.

Any idea where we might best plonk ourselves before or after the match to give ourselves the best shot.

We're in the Sir Alf lower, so I know we might have some joy at the tunnel at the end.

Being as close to the tunnel after the game/ after the warm ups is probably your best bet. Make sure to be waving a pen as i imagine he'd be much more likely to approach to sign something as opposed to giving you his shirt for example.

They probably muster at a hotel somewhere to eat, prepare and have meetings pre match.. if anyone knows where that is.

Watching this thread as my boy wants to get something signed by Wes too! Are away games a good option when waiting for the team coach to arrive?

Could go to the fanzone pre match and time it when the players arrive on their coach. Theres railings that separate fanzone to car park and if you shout loud enough i'm sure Wes would come over. Seen kids linger there before

I think you can see them leave at reception after the game again now, I know they stopped it post COVID.

If you’re on twitter give Dan Palfrey a message and ask or email him.

We went to Plymouth and my lad had a photo with the whole squad, individually, and also with McKenna. He was made up .

That was all after the game.

That's the most likely place - often before the game, they're just focussed on getting in and getting on with the game, whereas, after the game by the reception, we've often chatted to a few of them.

Back in the 70s teams often travelled by train so we youngsters would rush to Ipswich Station after the match to get their autographs. I've still got several including the Southampton team we thrashed 7-0. It included England's right winger, Terry Paine. The good times were building fast at PR.

That's right. My dad got the autographs of the entire Leeds team, including Don Revie, in the early 70s when he was travelling back on the train from London, I think on a Friday. He got them on a sheet of paper, and I still have it. From what I can recall, he also chatted with them.

Autographs are done outside main reception after the game. Not usually loads of people, so you should be fine!!!

My little brother got Mr Robson and the whole squad's autographs when Town played a friendly at Lowestoft's Crown Meadow in the early 70s.

If he could only remember what he did with it?

Thanks for this guy's.

Being exiles, we're normally away games people, and can confirm that the players are normally bloody awesome about making time for the fans before getting the coach home.

Just he's dead keen on getting it signed on his birthday, so it's a rare pilgrimage back to PR for us.
