Bearing in mind that it might not go down well with the markets!

B0llocks to the markets, they're reactionary to some extent and driven by sentiment. We can't make decisions off the back of the markets, we need to fix the fundamentals and the markets will follow.

Yes to a GE and bin the Tories.

The markets would love it.

Apart from the hedge funds, who'll be more worried about getting their collars felt.

Truss has no mandate for what she’s trying to do, so yes. Unless they find someone else who broadly commits to their manifesto.

Was the “bearing” a subtle pun? I’m definitely not feeling BULLISH on having someone competent any time soon.

A dyed in the wool Labourite & former senior bank manager (yes I know) said recently that the markets are all about confidence, and that when Johnson (I think it was) was elected leader, markets plunged; whereas when Starmer was elected leader, they stabilised & rose a bit.

The markets are already responding to chaos and fag packet policy from the incumbent disgraceful shower. They might not respond well to Starmer’s crowd, but they’ll respond well to some stability and sanity.

It's the one thing that will calm the markets! They want to see clarity. Not a revolving door & a revolving financial policy. Having a fully elected government with a mandate also helps

Exactly, Truss and her merry men are arguably the worst bunch of a sh1t show in my life time.

Markets don't actually mind bad news as long as there is a clear suggested path out of it.

I can't believe this women is in power, swear to god I could do a better job and I am a royal feck up.

As above, the rest took to the hills and left these low grade third raters to pick up the post Johnson mess.

There is a thought that if brexit is to be given 'a go' then when better than when the Tories have little hope of winning the next GE.

Truss/Kwarteng have barely unwrapped brexit this side of the channel and the results have been catastrophic. A sure indication of what would have happened had it gone further.

The sheer lunacy of making it harder to trade with a block that makes up nearly half of your exports was always going to be suicidal. Compound that with removing a ready source of labour, whereby there is now chronic shortage and you get the measure of those behind this brexit idiocy.

And about the only supposed expert backing this has been Patrick Minford. the man who supported the Poll Tax.

To remain competitive in the global market countries need to be forward looking, not wishing to cling to the past - Truss stopping solar power.

It is hoped that this 'dip of the toe' into brexit may bring a good few to their senses. However, that also requires that same few to get off their knees, to stand up for themselves and not cringe in the corner bleating 'master knows best' as shysters like Rees Mogg and Farage8 talk down to them

There was an 'expert' on Sky news saying that the markets would not react well to a 6 week break right now for an election. Not that I care but many on here would apparently...gotta keep dem markets happy!

Genuine question then Harry. Do you think more of the same/ perpetuation of the status quo can solve the problems societies and our planet are currently facing. It sounds to me that you just want the populous to bleat "master knows best" to a different master.

Without some massive change in consciousness by the majority you are simply left with flawed and dangerous Trotskyite nonsense that all the workers need is a highly motivated cadre of leaders to guide them to a better world

Flawed as you do not have to have an IQ into double figures to see what is wrong there - and dangerous because part of their creed is that you join in and push for reform on the basis that it will always fail......meaning they will then turn to the IS, SWP or whatever name those deluded fools are masquerading unto at the time.

At the moment I am well aware of what class I am, and also well aware that actions taken are never more than defensive, as they inevitably will be, but far better that than involving myself tilting at windmills in the forlorn hope that others will learn from my mistakes
