Norwich lost xx

Currently in 7th. Just had a glance at the table - 4 teams below them all have a game in hand. Unlikely I know, but if they all win (and Rotherham by 3 goals), then they slip to 11th.

Shame.

2 points from a possible 18.

All is not happy there. I suspect Smith will go at some stage.

I'm kind of hoping they continue to pick up the odd decent result which doesn't really impact much, like the away draw at Blades to keep him there longer.

Oooooops!

That's a real shame for them, they have a habit of flouncing pretty quickly but have so far, fluked a decent replacement

It's time for them to buck that trend!

It's their position in May that really matters. And somehow 7th on goal difference would be even better than 11th!

I don't think Smith will last much longer and it will be interesting who they get in. I noticed Dyche analysing yesterday. I hope they don't appoint him because I quite like him and think he is a good manager.

We are very used to them just rolling sixes with the dice. I remember them irritatingly getting £20 million for Maddison the summer after their parachute payments had run out and they had finished mid-table. Obviously, they went up as champions the following year.

I agree. However, their current form (2 points from the last 6 games) is to be enjoyed!

I really hope they don't appoint Dyche. Hopefully he'll go to a Premier League club.

I think they have a few trolls on there tonight. Names mentioned so far include Pulis, Allardice...

And Lambert!

It was a clear handball. Their captain dived goalkeeper style with his arms above his head to stop a cross into the area.

I like Vincent Kompany. Hope he does well there.

Controversial take: we could do with them winning a few between now and Christmas before doing their traditional post-January drop-off. They keep in indifferent form now, they might think about employing a competent manager.

As I said elsewhere in the thread, could do with them picking up a few streaky wins. Otherwise they'll sack smith when their season is potentially saveable.

It's kind of what I was trying to say earlier in the thread. Just picking up a few points here and there which don't punch too much of a hole in the league table. If they get rid too soon, they'll get in someone decent and in that division, a run of eight games can send you storming clear as everyone is so inconsistent.

That draw at Sheff U would have been looked at favourably but didn't really help them or affect anything too much.

A few 1-0 wins against the likes of Wigan, Hull etc won't hurt.

They'll finish 6th on goal difference after scraping a 2-2 draw on the last day of the season with goals in minutes 90+5 and 90+7. They'll win the playoff final with a penalty shootout after the opposition goalkeeper gets shot and no substitute is allowed.

Very plausible. I'm still shaking my head at the fact Boro couldn't even get to bloody Wembley in time that year.

It was a blatant handball but Burnley did dominate a lot of the match, was quite nice sat watching us win and them lose last night.

That division is so tight though that they'll have a streaky run at some point again.
