Choice of ends 17:57 - Dec 10 with 1276 views | Zx1988 | How does this work these days? We tend to end up attacking the North Stand in the second half in 99% of our matches these days, so is this something that we tend to agree with the visiting side rather than having a coin toss?

But if that's the case, then surely we wouldn't be getting our preferred 2nd half end in almost every game? If I was an opposition captain, I'd have thought one of the easiest ways to unsettle/annoy the team/fans would be to elect to have Town attack the Churchmans in the second half.

Choice of ends on 18:48 - Dec 10 with 1152 views | iamatractorboy | Liverpool seem to do the same thing, attacking the Kop in the second half nearly every time. I suspect the opposition don't mind too much as, at both Portman Rd and Anfield, their own away support are located either behind or near to the opposite goal.

It seems to me as if it's some sort of 'gentleman's agreement' situation, perhaps? "Let us have choice of ends at home, and we'll do the same for you in the return fixture".

Choice of ends on 11:32 - Dec 11 with 909 views | Pilgrimblue | It makes sense to attack BR in second half and in the main most visitors seem happy. on occasions opposition have turned us and sometimes it worked. Maybe Posh won the toss in which case we didn’t have a choice.

Basically, as captain you take the BR end when you’re warming up and then teams rarely swap sides from there. As pointed out further up, having the opposition fans at the other end means both sides probably prefer the same arrangement for warming up, starting games and then perhaps attacking in the second half.

Choice of ends on 12:33 - Dec 11 with 765 views | stonojnr | havent we always (well for the last 30 years or so) afaicr we always wanted to attack the North Stand second half, as theres always the impression the crowd that end can help unsettle the away team though Im sure someone did the stats and worked out we score more goals at Churchmans, and might even win more games attacking Churchmans second half. which probably means theres actually very little in it.
