If we’re still top by New Year’s Day and 2023… we’ll have done very well 12:58 - Dec 11 with 1427 viewsunstableblue

Plymouth have got morecambe and Cheltenham

We’ve got 3 tough fixtures with in form Wycombe and Oxford… and Pompey away is never easy

Stay top then hit the transfer window… we’d be in a great position

Return of a aluko and Chaplin into form is key

I don't think we will be top by mid January(hope we are), but will be in may

We've seen enough of this league to know it's not that simple. No one would have expected us to drop 4 points at home to Cheltenham and Fleetwood.

Truly impaired.

Main thing for me is get to Jan without any negative points gap to those around us.

Reinforce in Jan. Welcome back Evans and we are well set for a promotion battle at the buisness end of the season.

a niche perspective

If we can start to hold on to winning positions, and get some big refereeing decisions going our way I’d like to think we can generally be in the top slot throughout the remainder of the season. By my reckoning we’d have eleven or so points more than we actually have if we’d not drawn the games we should have won, and if we’d got a result against Lincoln when we totally dominated. We should be out of sight now but it’s the soft goals we’ve conceded, often late in a game, and some terrible refereeing decisions (like Marcus Harness’ disallowed goal against Barnsley) that have us in a three horse race (at the moment). If we can start to see out games, and get a bit of luck with the refs (another terrible one yesterday) I think we could start to pull away. Plus I’d like to think we can do well against the teams in the top six or so who all want to play football. Plymouth play Morecambe but they will be scrapping to get out of the bottom three and will be up to all sorts of nonsense, and they play Cheltenham but they are one of the form teams at the moment. I’m not usually this glass half full but with Sone back and Lee Evans on his way back, I can only see us getting better and better.

Agreed. Its a long season and underestimate anyone at your peril. However small the club the players are fit and are professional.

That was a good win yesterday and at nearly half way through the season we are well set.

Much as us fans like to think weeks or months ahead, you can see why managers focus on their own team and just talk about the next game as there are so many unknowns and variables at play, you can’t afford to speculate any further into the future.

We just need win at Wiccum and hope we suffer no further injuries
