If it's convincing.

Would Cowley be getting sacked in the morning?

Doesn't really matter.

They have an average squad* and would attract an average manager. Might be amusing to see their deluded fans say they should get McKenna though.

*Yes, anything can happen in a one off game, I am not saying we are certain to win, just that over a season they are not going to trouble the top 2

There must come a point in the not too distant future where he'll be under pressure if this run continues. By their standards they spent some money in the summer and their wage bill wont be small. I personally think they've got a decent squad at this level.

They will be expecting to be in p/offs IMO and if that gap gets much bigger he'll be under pressure surely? I know they've got games in hand but still.

There's a virus going around the Pompey squad so Cowleys got a get-out-of-jail card in his back pocket.

All my chores are done and I'm just sitting here nervous.
It's still 4 and a bit hours to kick-off.
Ready for it right now.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I am amazed that the club owners seem happy with the negative approach they have brought to the club. It is no surprise they have drawn so many matches as they are set up so negatively. His soundbites then fit with this too. They appear to think of themselves as the small club underdogs fighting to overachieve at the top end of the league.

So be it if that's what they have become. They know what it is like to drop below this level so perhaps they think they are nothing more than an average League 1 club. If that was the approach here, I would be furious.

Seems at odds with their recruitment too. Fought us off for Joe Morrell if the stories were true. 3 or 4 free transfers dropped down from the Championship who wouldn't be cheap by L1 standards. Bishop from Accrington who would've had other suitors, a few 'high profile' loans again by L1 standards.

Cowley plays the pauper card which might well be true compared to us, and they obviously lost Harness to us but I would say anything outside the top 6 is disappointing for that squad, and certainly midtable is failure. Long way to go and games in hand etc but they need a turnaround pretty sharpish.

I see Bath and Braintree kicked off their respective games at 15.00 in National League South. Surprised me a bit, - but how much work is really going on anyway?

Probably more in Braintree than Bath (with apologies to Harry).
