Now the in game emotion is over, a points a point 21:43 - Dec 29 with 1690 viewsFrimleyBlue

football in general was as good as always but we just didn't have that spark in the final third

We take it into January and bring in reinforcements and lets go get that promotion!

Oh btw motm for me tonight was wolfenden, one of few tonight who kept trying to get the game moving forwards and at times was demanding more from his skipper and others around him.

Whilst it's on GD, I just wanted us to get into January in the top 2. Now it's over to KM and Ashton to get us over the line. No excuses now.

What's "we just didn't have that spark in the final third" in Latin? It should be our motto.

Cracking game though. I'd have taken that at any point in over the last 15 years or so. It's harder to take when we're at where we are now and we controlled so much of the game.

Not according to Mick Mills...having a right moan. Miserable so and so. Just looked at the stats and they just dont correlate with what he is saying.

He's probably just carrying his emotion over, pretty much like I tend to do when things doing go how i want them with town. But tonight, i think i saw a draw coming so it's not a shock to the system and it wasn't a last minute equaliser either to make it worse.

What i did like though is we just didn't stop trying, that's all you can ever ask of a side. and i'll be honest some games it's felt like we had given up in final moments, but not tonight.

Honestly, that's a good point and an OK performance. Not at our best - but if a team sets up as defensively as that then it really is very hard to play against, Morocco at the World Cup illustrated that somewhat.

A little bit of magic added to the final third, to complement what we've already got, and we'll be fine.

We scored two goals away from home. I think that's a reasonable return. How many goals are we expected to score to win a game? Four, five, six?

Sometimes the defence has to step up.

The worrying thing is that’s now 4 points from our last three games whereas Plymouth have achieved 9 and Wednesday 7.

Wolfie has started looking like a real good player in recent games. I wouldn't be surprised to see some Championship teams having a good look.

Exactly. The Portsmouth first goal was a superb free kick. Not much anyone could do about that. But conceding from virtually Portsmouth's first attack of the second half was poor. Yet again, a long, high ball into the box causes a problem. Not a keeper's ball - Davis (I think) should have done better . We haven't kept a clean sheet in an away League game since Accrington in early September.

still of the opinion that Davis should swap with Leigh for away games, especially those known for sending in high balls.

Not quite, we didn’t concede at Exeter. But I went into this season thinking it would be unlikely that we would concede 30 goals, given how well we defended in the second half of last season. As things stand we could have conceded that many by the start of February.
