Wednesday have demanded a meeting with refs 06:39 - Feb 11 with 2902 viewsAsa

On the eve of our game.

Let’s hope it doesn’t cause today’s ref to give them everything and, if anything, it works the other way.

Seems a really bizarre thing to be doing when top of the league. They had a couple of laughable decisions that were given against them last week in a match which they won. The officials did something they can’t do apparently. Like making up rules in a match you can’t see and then claiming you never said it?

Meanwhile, the officials cost us three points at Hillsborough. No action taken against their fans hurling missiles at the officials. Same incompetence cost us against Barnsley. A few other games as well.

Surely this poor officiating is just the result of having most of the ball and most of the chances in a league with terrible refs. You’ll get a lot more goals ruled out, offsides against and bad tackles against you ignored?

If they demand a meeting, we should be demanding a seat on the bloody board. We kicked off less over an absolute farce at Oxford. We’ve been the masters of our own downfall, especially in stoppage time, but that aside we could make a real case for being 9-10 points better off with competent referees.

Can only hope today’s referee has taken great offence at their actions and is going to give them something to really moan about

While we haven’t exactly helped ourselves in the last few months, officials have cost us a load points for obvious and basic mistakes:
- Barnsley (h) Harness’ goal disallowed), 2 points.
- Sheff Wed (a) equaliser offside (as well as not taking the players off), 2 points.
- Charlton (a) not sending their player off and giving a penalty for a blatant handball on the line. 2 points.
- Fleetwood (h) blatant penalty not given just after their goal, 2 points.
- Portsmouth (a) never a free-kick for their first goal. 2 points.
- Lincoln (a) not giving us a penalty for a more obvious foul they got their’s for (3 fouls in one photo!), 2 points.
- Oxford (a) not abandoning the game, 1 point.

Plymouth, foull on Chaplin before the goal.

The only Muff in Town.

Might at least make sure the officials spot Wednesday players in offside positions…

Is the meeting to clarify that coin throwing is ok at Portman Road ?

This is the thing.

We’ve not helped ourselves. But we’d be so much better off - clear at the top - if the officials had given us half the stonewallers we should have had.

By contrast, I’m struggling to remember anything we were given that has actually won us points. The Lincoln sending off you could argue might have been a yellow but even then we took the same points from what we had at that stage of the game.

We’ve not earned any points through bad decisions in our favour but we’ve lost a shed load of points.

The Oxford game should have been abandoned and replayed in its entirety. So it could have been anything from 0 to 3 points.

Poll: would you rather

To be fair to Wednesday you can see their point :-)

Having a goal disallowed 57 seconds after it went in, through the refs using VAR in a league with no VAR is quite an achievement.

At the risk of an avalanche of down votes... our second goal at Hillsbrough came directly after a foul on a Sheff Wed player, which the ref played a ridiculous advantage on, I say ridiculous because we immediately won the ball back. So it's not always us that are hard done by.

Not a foul ( well not on Chaplin anyway...he puts himself in the way.....)

Swap the shirts and watch it and see if you would want the "Ipswich " strike ruled out.....

Thought not :)

When did you stop supporting Bristol City? Great to see you have got over Ashton though.

I don't think that was a foul to be fair, Chaplin was looking for it when he should have been closing the ball down

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!
