Tom Lawrence late equaliser. Someone quoted ‘absolute scenes’ after the game on here and got pelters for it.

It would be somewhat fitting if nearly seal promotion on Tuesday night with a win there six years later.

Same fan will be there again and looking for some more ‘absolute scenes’.

Uppa Towen. BELIEVE!

Never understood the grief from that because it was scenes. Must’ve only have been 600/800 odd of us there?

When was that 5-2, when we were 2 down at half time? 2011?

People who didn't travel telling those of you who did travel how much you're allowed to enjoy it. Was odd.

It was 5-3. A great win that perversely was bad for the club. We had lost 7 on the bounce going into that game, Jewell was clueless and I reckon that win saw him stay for a further 10 months of said cluelessness before Mick came in.

100% saved him. Jewell looked a sacked and broken man going down that tunnel at half time.

Yep, I had a right go at him as he went down the tunnel adjacent to the away stand. I think my scouse accent completely freaked him as he did a double take with a look on his face that said "Why is a scouser having a go at me, I'm the f@@ kin manager of Ipswich?"

Wasn't it a pretty pointless game and is equalising near the end against Barnsley.......

Yeah absolute scenes haha

The penalty the other night Vs port vale is absolute scenes. If you can't tell the difference then that's down to you!

Good day out that, met Dickie Bird earlier in the day. You could see me and my brothers going mental celebrating down the front on the highlights when we scored.

Of course I can tell the difference. The goal Tuesday was clearly enormous. The goal against Barnsley was not.

But for whatever the goal that day against Barnsley (asides from it being a 96th minute equaliser) was celebrated just as wildly. The bigger issue is the way this forum went off on one at that happening. Unless you were there, you can’t possibly judge how much a goal was celebrated and for whatever reason, that goal really was ‘absolute scenes’. As you’ll see from two others on this thread who were actually there.

Goals and games don't necessarily have to have any context in terms of 'scenes' when a goal is scored. I can remember at St Mary's in 2006, in the most mid-table game you can imagine in the depths of spring, people falling over in celebrations as we scored against Southampton. Sometimes in the moment, a collective magical celebration just happens. There was a fairly big tanked up contingent from Suffolk that day mind.
