What is the title and who is performing the song being played in this movie, Buddy's Song, on 46 min 10 secs?

I've tried Shazam with no joy and can't find any info on the songs in the film. Anyone have a clue?

Similar words but not the same song, and much slower. Tried reading the end credits but it's a poor copy so very blurred.

Might it be one of these songs on this album?

Nope. It's not a Chesney Hawkes song. The soundtrack was my first port of call. But there isn't a soundtrack that features non Chesney Hawkes songs.

Is Chesney Hawkes the one and only artist you’ve considered?

The imdb page is pretty scant on detail too. I think the only way you are finding this out is by picking up the dvd, but even then there is no guarantee from a British indie film of that era. The voice feels somewhat familiar, but I've never heard it anywhere else. Quite an interesting little film as I recall.

When I moved to The Canary Islands in 1992 it was one of a handful of films that I took with me on VHS, and was well watched quite a bit as I did't have a TV aerial in my apartment.

I hadn't thought about it for years, until I saw a clip of Chesney Hawkes in his West Ham shirt getting ready to watch the Europa Conference League final.

This appears to be a better copy of the end of the film, including the credits.

If you google 'love the one youre with' and then scroll down a bit on the first page you will see 'second hand songs' website. There is a long list of different versions. Maybe amongst that lot somewhere?

Cheers. That's much clearer than the copy I was trying to get it from.

The song is called 'Love with One Heart' but I'm b*ggered if I can read the performer.

That was what I was thinking, although not very clear...

https://www.discogs.com/artist/756875-Thom-Hardwell

I would guess it was perhaps just an incidental bit of a song written for that scene, rather than a full song, as there would appear to be no record of it that can easily be found, and his listings include in the writing section various for Buddy's Song.

Apparently he came 8th in the UK qualifying for Eurovision 1990 with a song called "Never Give Up".

The winner, Emma, with "Give A Little Love back to the World", went on to finish 6th in the finals.
