Spain have full control. Tactical change needed at halftime England.

Maybe stop passing backwards?
Technically much better basic ball control

Not even close to a contest. Could easily be 3 down or worse.

Some of our defending could only be watched through closed eyes - "statue-esqe" would be an apt description. Comms thought maybe a couple were carrying injuries.

I thought changes were needed before h-t, tbh.

Very complacent. Taking on passes they aren't good enough to pull off against a decent team. Over and over again.

Think midfield is the biggest problem. Struggling to hold on to the ball, pass or tackle.

Its complacent. No one shields or expects contact on the ball. So easy to push them off.

This is one of the benefits of the women’s game, I do think the women’s game has a lot of technically good players. They don’t rely on physicality to dominate their play.

Part of being technically good, is being able to perform those skills under pressure, including physical pressure.

Which they do. Lots of the games during this competition have shown teams being technically good on the ball.

If Sunderland v Ipswich had 13 minutes of injury time, this must be at least 15?

Not today. Constantly nudged off it with ease as if they expect to be allowed to play without challenge. Especially Bronze and Walsh.

Dunno if over-awed by the occasion, but just seemed as though they weren't making the effort sometimes, which would be bizarre.

When I said "through closed eyes" before btw, I meant of course "fingers"!

Disagree, the way the Spanish have kept the ball and past it out from tight positions especially during that first half was rather impressive to watch.

Thought Walsh has been really poor, surprised she wasn't subbed.

So the same amount of added time as Sunderland v Town, even though there have been longer delays here.

Those Spaniards certainly know how to waste time. Nonetheless, we weren't good enough today, still a cracking achievement though.

Ref was really poor. They played her like a violin...

Better team won though.

Well beaten by the much better team in the end - too many players put in poor performances.

Good to see though that regardless of the sport or gender, the Spanish are a bunch of whiny cheating melts.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Yep, the ridiculous yellow card for Hemp should have been given against the Spanish player instead for her dive & Oscar-worthy acting - Hemp barely touched her.

As you say, Spain deserved to win on the day, though far better than us.

Fair play to Spain.

Worthy champions.

I thought England were much improved in the 2nd half.

Very proud of them.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Agreed, the ref was weak and manipulated by Spain. Regardless, Spain were the better team and deserved the win.

Well done England though. Euro champs and World Cup finalists is a great achievement. They’ve hopefully inspired a generation to get out there, play and/or take an interest.
