Rotator cuff. 12:20 - Aug 20 with 1050 views | BanksterDebtSlave | Miss Slave has for ages been having trouble getting her arm much above her shoulder, slowly getting all wore out by hard physical work. Anybody got insight on how she might be able to make it better?

After a few months they agreed to give me a jab but those months were a nightmare. If it happened again I think I would be inclined to drive up to Nuffield and pay for one straight away.

There was a risk of needing surgery, but he has coaxed good movement back through massage & daily exercises. Well worth a consultation - he is very honest about what the options and issues are. https://www.m-ost.co.uk/

Rotator cuff. on 13:29 - Aug 20 with 850 views | ThisIsMyUsername | A combination of relative rest (stop/adapt as much as possible the 'hard physical work' as this will only cause the quality of the tendon to continue to deteriorate further) and rotator cuff muscle and tendon strengthening. The first part really is key. Tendinopathies go through three phases; reactive, disrepair and degenerate. Once in the latter phase the prognosis isn't great. Whatever she's doing, the pain is the brain's way of pointing out that it's not doing the rotator cuff's health any good. [Post edited 20 Aug 2023 13:29]

And then it passed completely? She has been told that not using it at all may lead to a frozen shoulder!?!?

Rotator cuff. on 13:33 - Aug 20 with 840 views | Churchman | I’ve had a frozen shoulder on one side a few years later a torn shoulder ligament. Shoulder injuries are flippin painful and very debilitating. Miss S has my every sympathy. Simple things like tying shoe laces became almost impossible and I was having to work out solutions to the most idiotic things. Sleeping? Nightmare.. What I did was in both instances get a diagnosis from the doctor, but I didn’t have any injections. I went to a private sports physiotherapist recommended by somebody I knew. He was brilliant and after establishing what I was prepared to put up with pain wise and what I wanted (100% recovery) I was put through the wringer for a few weeks. God it was painful, but it worked. My advice is always seek professional help. If you have to pay for it and can, do so. Yes that makes me a hypocrite given my views on health care provision for all, but needs must and I’m at least honest about it.
