.....falls mainly on the Slave family when they have the audacity to take a holiday! Not going til Saturday but doesn't look great around Barcelona way! God must hate us.

Spain can be quite temperamental early September even we're expecting our first rain since May this weekend. Most of the time its a quick heavy downpour then the sun comes out! If you havent been before the Sagrada Familia Basilica is a great indoor place to waste a few hours Good luck

I’ve spent a few golf trips in that area at this time of year over the years and the weather can vary. Sunshine and showers. But it will be a really lovely temperature and there’s plenty to do. It’s a lovely part of the world. Enjoy!
In Portugal end of the month. Last year (another golf trip) it was three days warm sun, one day absolutely torrential rain. This year river cruising the Douro with Mrs C and given what it is, quite frankly the weather can do what it likes - but I hope there’s a few rays to enjoy obviously!

Yep it's very temperamental especially near the coast, it can be crazy hot blue skies one day, the next mid Atlantic hurricane style crazy rain weather then back to blue skies.
We went one year and the town we stayed in the seafront got absolutely hammered in one of those storms, all the bar/shop windows smashed, boats wrecked and stranded on the beach, the kind of thing over here they'd go on about for months in the news.
It barely even featured in the local press, let alone internationally, it was literally like oh yeah that happens all the time at this time of year.

Particularly affecting the Valencia coast, with the move from August to September , is something known as the Gota Fria (or cold drop).
There was a particularly devastating one in 2019 which really affected the area south of Alicante. I visited a few days later, and there was still a vast lagoon around the Seguro River, with ruined furniture outside the many houses which were affected. It also brought the mosquitoes out in force.
Great tune. And still a bit odd they changed there name, as it had nothing to do with slavery (in the sense of the hideous sh1t that those stolen from Africa went through)
