10 Games In... 15:15 - Oct 4 with 1918 views | Tangledupin_Blue | We will be either top or second. From here on the table is meaningful. Let those supporters of other clubs, who are dumb enough, carry on saying that we have been lucky and that our purple patch will end. We know better. We are playing exciting, winning, at times scintillating, football and still improving almost with each game. Consecutive promotions are a realistic aspiration. Over the next 36 games we may slip back a little but we'll, at least, be in the shake-up come next spring. Everything's coming up roses.

So we are finding the Championship suits us better than League 1.

Championship last season, Norwich were in second on 20 points after 10 games, Sheff U top, Burnley 4th. Long way to go, but as OP says, starts to become a bit more meaningful.

I think there may be an element that the opposition approaches suit us better - certainly. Thankfully, more often that not teams are far more expansive in their approach against us, and this has certainly benefitted us - and we a well oiled machine that can hurt teams with a bit more space. Ironically our biggest struggle this season has come against Huddersfield, who not in bad way, play the most L1 style of football we have come up against so far. I think as the season wears on, teams may start going a little bit more back foot against us (especially at PR), when they realise we aren't a flash in the pan, and our form and way of playing has been built over 2 years.

Wise counsel catch. Got to keep our wits about us. Since the Championship was born in 2004/05, teams in 1st and 2nd after 10 games have finished: Top Two: 17 Playoffs: 11 Top Half: 7 Bottom Half: 3 However! 23 points or above is less common. It's happened 11 times, 3 of which were in one season (ouch). Finishing positions were as follows: Top 2: 8 Playoffs: 2 Top Half 0 👀 Bottom Half: 1 (Cardiff 06/07, let's quickly move on) 25 points or above since 1997/98 (when form tables begin on this nifty website I'm using): Top 2: 5 Playoffs: 0 Top Half: 1 Bottom Half: 0 Phwoar!

All very encouraging. And if we are overtaken and are still in this league next season then we go again, a little stronger and more experienced. We are part of the promotion conversation; we have our pride back.
