I'm afraid I stopped watching when he said Palestine has no army, there may not be parity in terms of equipment and weaponry but Hamas can draw on a steady stream of recruits who are embittered by rough treatment at the hands of Israeli authorities from an early age. Furthermore, just as the United States and other nations supply Israel so too does Iran find a way to supply Hamas. Very difficult for peaceable folks in Israel and Palestine not to get dragged into conflict and proxy wars.

What has the source got to do with the content of the video?
If they're prepared to give a voice to the likes of Aseem Malhotra, they'll quite possibly offer a voice to all sorts of unreliable, disingenuous and straight out lying types. They're not doing themselves a favour hosting open anti vaxxers.
We've had this discussion before about defaming dodgy types just because they're on your team.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

It depends how you define ‘army’. Strictly speaking they don’t, and his premise that there’s a huge disparity between a conventional heavily militarised, nuclear force and an informally armed force is sound. He lost me at that part too, but more because he’s saying that people view them as equal military forces. I’ve never heard that view before.

There was a brief interview with someone from Hamas on the BBC Radio Four ten o'clock news on Sunday who stated that the 7th October atrocity was military action, perhaps even Putin would blush at that claim, so I take from that a view that Hamas may see themselves as an army - which makes Palestine a military dictatorship, and it must feel like that to the Christians living there.
Israel is an enigma. Their human rights record is much better than any other nation in the region for their own citizens even if they are of Arab/Palestian origin. The way they treat others however is among the worst in the entire world. As an ex serviceman my view on the Israeli Army in terms of training and professionlism is that they are peers of The British Army but behave in a way that any good British soldier finds abhorent. One thing this guy does not mention is the complete wierdoness of a significant percentage of the US population who believe The End Times are imminent and those true Christians in Israel will be saved and they intend to travel to Israel when these times start. They do not give a damn about the Jewish people of Israel as they will not be saved. Israel does not care about this as they know it is BS, they are are just happy that the F16s keep rolling in.

Christian Zionism is hugely influential in US politics. And it's quite a frightening and ultimately antisemitic ideology. Its followers claim to love Israel, but only do so in order to facilitate the return of Christ. If their bizarre prophesy were to come true, two thirds of the worlds Jews would be annihilated for not accepting Jesus as their messiah upon his return.

In fairness they DID kill Jesus!
Seriously the religious right ( so called Christians ) have done enormous harm to America in all areas of life. The Israel thing is quite sick.

I wonder what's upset Chorley Boy here. I wouldn't have thought he was a fellow traveller with Double Down News.
I've never heard of Double Down News. I just downvoted your comment because you don't appear to have a problem with the content of the video, only the news site itself. Dissing news and opinion based on the platform rather than the content seems to be a dangerous, although popular, practice. Listening to only "trusted sources" empowers those who decide who/what is to be trusted and is therefore likely to limit free as well as dissident speech. It's all a bit dictatorial regime for my liking.

Point of clarification:
Hamas led a paramilitary coup in the Gaza Strip, but the West Bank is a larger area and population of Palestinian Arabs which is still governed quasi-autonomously by the Palestinian Authority, of which the President is Mahmoud Abbas.
As "Palestine" is the name preferred by Arabs for the area of land including these two distinct areas and (the rest of) Israel, your final sentence would probably be better expressed as "which makes the Gaza Strip a military dictatorship, and must feel like that to the Christians living there."

My apologies, and a very important clarification there.

“ Listening to only "trusted sources" empowers those who decide who/what is to be trusted and is therefore likely to limit free as well as dissident speech.”
Whereas the opposite must be “untrusted” sources which opens you up to a whole world of grifters, edgelords, flat-earthers and anti-vaxx ‘do your own research’ types. We have a free media, you can post whatever you like, but people are equally free to ridicule it.

I wrote trusted sources in inverted commas for a reason. If I had the money or connections, power or influence to decide who is "trusted" or not, it neither means that you will agree with me, nor that you will agree that all other sites are untrustworthy. All governments have geo-political interests and not all of those interests are shared by opposition parties or by other governments, obviously.
You only have to know what a "D Notice" is to understand that we do not have a free press.
