Hladky/walton 20:34 - Nov 25 with 1436 views | Stu_boy | The defence is looking more and more leaky recently. I know the championship is always going to be harder than league 1 but would walton be better at organising and communicating the backline than hladky? Also given time id like to see more of axel partnering wolfy

Hladky/walton on 20:52 - Nov 25 with 1308 views | pointofblue | I think the issue with the defence is a lack of support from midfield more than who's in goal. Far too often they had no one to pass to in possession, and out of possession West Brom cut through too easily.

Yes and as we have said many times before he has exceeded expectations by a mile , I do thi k Walt is the better keeper but you just cannot drop Hladky .
Hladky/walton on 21:22 - Nov 25 with 1196 views | Basuco | Defence was not protected by the midfield and the midfield was left exposed by lack of attacking intent. At the end of the day it was just a defeat by a well organised attacking team of established Championship players.
Hladky/walton on 08:40 - Nov 26 with 899 views | ArnoldMoorhen | It's a valid question. We have conceded 2 goals in 5 consecutive League games. Walton commands his area better than Hladky, and catches more whereas Hladky tends to palm or punch. Hladky is the better sweeper-keeper, and helps the defence more against the high press. Walton's (few) clangers, if I remember correctly, were when he and a defender both expected the other to deal with a ball over the top on the break, which Hladky excels at. Hladky's weakness is being stuck on his line under crosses. Overall Hladky's stats for the season show that he outperforms given the positions our defence put him in, but we also saw last season that Walton made exceptional saves and was excellent from one-on-one situations. The question is whether Walton would take charge of more situations in his box. From crosses and corners he would. From balls over the top he wouldn't. Given that Leif's biggest weakness is crosses and corners, and he is pretty much undroppable due to his attacking threat, I am inclined to start to lean towards Walton.
Hladky/walton on 08:52 - Nov 26 with 854 views | Facefacts | You're not factoring in Walton's poor performance against Fulham. If he'd performed well, fine, kept us in the game, taken the game to pens, saved a couple - then there'd be a chance he could've come back in. No chance of Hladky being dropped for Walton .. Slicker also took his chance against Reading and played well albeit for Scotland U21s. I'd say there's more chance of Walton being let go in January to free up a squad place. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Hladky/walton on 08:52 - Nov 26 with 854 views | ElephantintheRoom | It’s not been a problem whilst the team gets as many or more goals than the opposition. It IS a bit of a problem when they don’t.
